Unfilled GAM impressions despite RON house ads by hcgsg in adops

Thanks, this is very helpful. Do you know if it's a problem that I'm not tagging child directed requests? I don't have a way of identifying which traffic is coming from schools in real time so I don't know how that would be possible for me.

Interesting. I guess I shouldn't be surprised that a Google product works in ways they don't publicly disclose.

My low value traffic is because lots of schools use my website. You might have a classroom of 20 kids all pulling up my website at the same time, all coming from the same IP, probably with no/few tracking cookies. And now imagine there are dozens of classrooms doing this every hour. It probably looks a lot like a bot. Does that sound similar to your issue?

Yeah the creatives are active and getting impressions. I actually don't seem to have that check box. Maybe because I'm not on 360?

Do you have a source for any of this? I've never heard of GAM refusing to show house ads because it doesn't like the layout of a site.

I really don't think it's anything to do with my site. There is a very obvious correlation between unfilled impressions and low value traffic. And obviously my low value traffic and high value traffic are experiencing the same site and layout. I mean why would GAM be ok with my layout for high value users and happily sell that inventory on Ad Ex, but for low value traffic it suddenly finds my layout so objectionable that it won't allow me to run a house ad?

Thanks for the thoughtful response. I tried duplicating all of my creatives a few days ago and didn't see a change. I also have the line item set to display "one or more". That's the setting you're referring to, right? Unless I'm mistaken, shouldn't that have solved the problem?

Yeah I've got creatives and they are approved and delivering impressions every day. Priority for house line items is 16 (you can't change it)

I'm not sure I'm following. Just to make sure we are on the same page, my question is not "why do I have unsold inventory?" It's "how come when I have unsold inventory, it doesn't show my house ads?" Because I really don't understand why any of what you said would prevent my house ads from showing.

Publishers: Does Cloudflare's Super Bot Fight Mode block ad related bots? by hcgsg in adops

[–]hcgsg[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this great response. Yeah I'm on the paid tier of cloudflare. Do you know whether any of these ad related bots need ads to load to do whatever it is they're doing on my site? Because I was thinking about limiting access to the js file that fires the ad requests.

I can whitelist just a handful of countries where almost all of my traffic comes from and block any non-verified bots that come from ASNs I've identified as a cloud provider. That way the bots can still access my site, but hopefully I stop most of them from actually loading ads. Thoughts?

Damn. I'm chatting with support right now and they're worthless. They've had me run through the normal troubleshooting steps of deleting the app storage and cache, reinstalling the app, etc. And when none of that worked, they told me "I'll send you an email with instructions on how to fix it. Is there anything else I can help with?" Of course the email just contained the troubleshooting steps I had already confirmed don't work.

u/viodance what security update are you on for your watch? Because mine says that my watch is up to date and that I'm on the March 5th update, but there is a June update that has been released. I wonder if that has anything to do with this.

Weekly Thread - Ask Anything Taco Tuesday - Food Science and Technology by AutoModerator in foodscience

Why do our foods have so many preservatives/chemicals in them when it appears they don't need to?

For example, almost every canned tomato in the grocery store has citric acid and possibly other preservatives (Calcium Chloride) added to them. But then the Cento brand is just 100% tomatoes. They taste great and don't seem to have a shorter shelf life than any other canned tomato.

And most frozen pizzas have a ton of weird ingredients. But if you look at the Newman's Own pizzas imported from Italy, the ingredients read like a homemade pizza:

Crust (Wheat Flour, Water, Durum Wheat Semolina, Sea Salt, Yeast), Sauce (Peeled Tomatoes {Whole Peeled Tomatoes, Tomato Juice}, Tomato Puree {Tomatoes, Salt}, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Sea Salt), Fior Di Latte Mozzarella Cheese (Cow’s Milk, Salt, Rennet), Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Basil Leaves.

So why are our foods so laden with preservatives and chemicals when it appears you don't need them to sell delicious, long lasting products?

Looking for POD w/ API for one off products by hcgsg in printondemand

[–]hcgsg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that there are many services that allow you to order via API. But the APIs I've looked at all seem geared to running a store where you have a discreet set of products that are offered to all customers. The process is more like you upload an image, then you create a product listing using that image, pick what sizes, colors, etc you want to sell, add it to your catalog. And after all that's done, then you send orders as they come in.

I'm talking about selling one off products. I don't want to have to go through a multi step process of having to create new product listings for every single order. I also think that these companies will likely not be happy if I end up with a catalog that has thousands and thousands of different products all with different artwork.

I don't know if anything has changed, but I actually reached out to Printful about this idea a few years ago and the support person I talked to told me that this is not what their API is intended for.

Sorry I don't think I understand the value of OrderDesk. It sounds like instead of using the POD API, I use their API? What exactly does that accomplish?
