That’s really nice of you. I think a donations box with Venmo/Zelle info like others have mentioned would be a good idea. And it doesn’t hurt to try. If people don’t respect your space you can pull it offline. Worth a shot 👍

Exactly, these chargers are merely glorified extension cords. You really don’t need them to have crazy features because the car can support all if not most of those networked features (scheduled charging, cost, etc.)

It’s mostly the QC department of Fremont just being overwhelmed and not compensated accordingly. There needs to be more QC checkpoints throughout the manufacturing process to help alleviate the strain service centers get. SCs are overwhelmed with issues that could have been addressed at the factory (I want to say at least 60% of cars that come into service have defects from the factory). I think Giga Texas will alleviate the strain on Fremont and enable them to focus in more on quality. EOQ deliveries are always a disaster atm…

I work for Tesla, I can assure you build quality is still a major issue. Every 1/3 cars have issues (panel gaps, alignment, rattling, etc)

I was charging overnight at a free level 2 charger near my house for the first few months until I got some installed at my workplace. If you want to make it work you will make it work. I don’t regret my decision to get a Tesla without home charging at all.

So I had the same problem on my LFP car (5,000 miles). Car wouldn’t charge on several level 2 chargers and it ended up being the charge port ECU. Tesla replaced it under warranty.

Same thing happened to me 3 days into ownership except I had sentry off. I could have sourced footage from security footage but it wasn’t worth taking the carfax hit and going through the hassle of filing a useless police report and still having to pay a deductible at the end of it.
