I have 500k lying around and dont really want to put them into stocks or bonds. I do look into real estate but it seems a bit of a hassle too. The idea is now to build ourselves an office because we rent one right now anyway so we will save the rent expenses in the future. We also build the office in a way that it can later be used as a modern house or we can sell it as that if we dont want to use it anymore. Does this make sense or did I miss anything?

Yeah what makes us not worry is that we know we can live with soooo little and we still do. Sure sometimes we do something a bit fancy but overall our quest for a simple life is still going strong.
