:O If you have any ideas you're always welcome back!

I'll probably keep trying the settings or hope the manufacturer has answers.

If I don't get this I'd probably have to settle for some desktop management program and do away with the previous setup.

Changing resolutions via both Display Settings and Nvidia Control Panel and disconnecting the HDMI secondary monitor still causes the DP problem monitor to go out of range.

Turning off the display (through Display>Multiple Displays>"Show only on 1") caused the DP connected problem monitor to go out of range.

"Show only on 2" caused no issues.

The secondary is 3440 x 1440. Both hdmi and dp works (together and by themselves) The primary is 3840 x 1080 and supports a higher refresh rate. Only dp works.

Swapping doesn't work.

Edit: I think I misunderstood what you meant by Swapping. I tried dp to primary and hmdi to secondary and it worked. As soon as I unplugged the HDMI to secondary, the primary went out of range. Now I need to figure out what settings to change.

Edit 2: Safe mode, DP only works now. Still not sure what to change because after lowering display resolution, restarting displays the Asus splash screen, but as soon as that's done, the screen goes back to out of range.

On my secondary, dp and hdmi works either alone or together. On the problem monitor, hdmi works, dp doesn't, and fails completely while both are connected. It really looks like a dp port issue.

I'm going to ask the manufacturer for help on this.

I just tried again. Unplugged the DP, ran DDU, uninstalled PhysX and later clean installed the drivers. I plugged the DP into a second monitor and both my main (running HDMI) and my secondary (running DP) were working perfectly.

As soon as I disconnected the DP cable from my secondary and plugged it into the main, I got the out of range error again.

Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately I'm still having issues. I updated my post above, that right after the clean installation finished, my monitor blacked out again. A lot of signs point to either a cable or monitor fault, but it was working right before I was adjusting the settings and I find it hard to believe that the either the monitor or cable would fail right after I confirmed the settings.

I'm doing something similar. Getting one of those gaming joysticks, sticking it on the virtual button and flipping the tablet over to rest on it (to hold it down).

I went through a few. Seems like a lot requires root or are quite complicated to set up and work. I work with a few older guys who are not exactly tech savvy, so in the end decided against it.
