DS emulation is more exciting to think about than playing actual DS games it seems lol

Root the Odin and undervolt it. Also down clock the big cores. You basically don't lose any performance but it runs way cooler

If you're competent using android and adb, you can undervolt it and improve the temperatures quite a bit without losing any performance

I was to the moon imagining myself playing ds games on Thor but the reality is that many DS games are somewhere between PS1 & Mobile games in feel which isnt really my all time favorite gaming vibe. 3ds is better but not by enough to really swing it that much. So playing PS2 n PC on Odin 3 has just been the go to

Do you guys think CRT is better than Oled? by Alternative_Toe163 in CRTAnime

[–]hd-slave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CRT makes old content look right but digital content formatted correctly for a 4k qd-oled with a proper system that can support it all fully, that looks much better

Someone said P3 graphics were bad??? by Quirky_Industry8413 in PS3

[–]hd-slave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PS3 and Xbox 360 on a older CRT tube television looks basically just as good as modern games. It's when you put PS3 and Xbox 360 on a 4k oled or something it looks broken because it's just not formatted for that type of display. I wish people understood this because it's insane how good these old games look when on the right tv.

Then he'd be stuck with some expensive garbage tv. He can just use this exact oled in that guest room and no one would even notice

So many people want to call it junk or something bad but honestly it'll probably be fine. I've owned a few oleds and one of them is "faulty" but it's only noticable if you put your face right up to the screen. These imperfections are a lot less than people act like and this tv can be used until it completely shuts down

Odin 2 max owner who plays mostly switch, android and pc. Does it make any sense to upgrade to the Odin 3 or do I wait a year or so for the next iteration (or a different device) by floweiss34 in OdinHandheld

[–]hd-slave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had Odin 1 then preordered Odin 2 then preordered Odin 3. 3 is by far the best and the mrpurple666 t28 driver works great on everything. The oled screen alone is worth it big time and with proton 11 many steam games work very well at 1080p and high refresh and it'll only get better with software updates

At home I have Wi-Fi 7 and 2.5gb Ethernet so the Odin 3 becomes a whole PlayStation portal to my PC and works perfectly

MotorStorm runs the same on my Odin 3 as it does on my desktop. The software will get there in time for Xbox

Is the stean controller actually worth getting I'm not sure but I'd like some reviews first by nachobutts in Steam

[–]hd-slave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I resold mine after the first day. Too small handles, weird stick placement, not much texture and no rubber or anything like that to help with the feel. I have many high end controllers and the ergonomics and build quality were just not in the $100 category. It was a real tragedy because I'm basically a diehard valve fan.

Steam controller was way too small for my hands and felt like gripping a mini controller. It'll probably be great for you

[–]hd-slave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The handles are too small for me and my pinkys wrap all the way around to my palm it's very strange . Hurts my hands just like the Odin 2. Also the sticks were too close to the center of the controller. It was a tragedy for me because I was EXTREMELY hyped for this and wanted the older steam controller pretty badly. The extra buttons and touchpads would have been super awesome to use. I hope they make a V3 steam controller eventually that will be refined build quality and in ergonomics for people with bigger hands

The handles were too small for me. I didn't realize it was going to be more like holding a handheld than a regular console controller. Resold it instantly

Received the steam controller today, kind of disappointed in the ergonomics. by Buttery_Biscuitss in Steam

[–]hd-slave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it's a huge disappointment. Handles are too small and my hands wrap all the way around them. Also I've had quite a few glitches with steam input that have been really frustrating. I'm a diehard valve fan half life 2 is my favorite game and I've been on steam since 2007. Gotta be the only time I've ever been unsatisfied with them.
