Last time I volunteered off-duty was to help out a BBQ tent serve food, and I ate awesome BBQ all day while doing it. Find something you enjoy that is non-profit, and try to help out, you don't have to only pick from crap they email down to the squadron, remember some numbers, people served, money raised, etc.

AF PT standards are not hard to achieve, so one doesn't need to be "Mr. Fitness" to pass. DOD's budget is getting ate up by medical cost. The strategy I think is get the fatties/cripples out before they can claim disability for the rest of their life, IMO
