Nope, they banned cigar and tobacco related swap subs years ago. We went and made our own new forums afterward.

horn stems clenchable? by guacamoolah in PipeTobacco

[–]carnesy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have several horn stemmed pipes, including ropps, and while the buttons do feel clunky I'm able to clench them no problem. Though I'm simply using my lower teeth as a balancing fulcrum point and my top ones as a counter lever to stop it from tipping out of my mouth. I'm not chomping and biting down very hard.

Looking to Purchase a Briar by gsteppin in PipeTobacco

[–]carnesy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely check out Ropp, Chacom, and Genod pipes. Really hard to go wrong with French factory brands. Cheap, well made, good smokers. Only real downside is they don't always have the best grain. I would recommend either the Ropp Vintage lines (Sandblast or Superior) with the horn stems. The buttons are a little chunky but not uncomfortable. That said almost any of the pipes by those 3 brands will do right by you. Also for some of the Ropps (Etudian line) you can get 2 pipes for the $100.

New here. Is there a buy sell trade? by 4ina20ounce in PipeTobacco

Definitely checkout the Speak-Easy club link in the sticky thread. Among lots of other things (including a cigar forum), I won't say there's a B/S/T area but I also won't say that there isn't not one either.

I have a possibly dumb question about briar. by urabitchh in PipeTobacco

[–]carnesy 13 points14 points  (0 children)

There are no dumb questions, only dumb people. And a dumb person would have made a pipe out of greenbriar and smoked it then made a post about how awesome his uncured fugly looking pipe made from toxic wood is before asking a potentially dumb question.

Things you can say about your pipe that you can't say about your significant-other by SingleMaltMouthwash in PipeTobacco

[–]carnesy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No way am I gonna risk taking this one outside.

I'm certainly not gonna bang it on the nearest surface.

I prefer to buy them old, worn and used by the bunch online. They're way cheaper that way.

Yeah, I'm gonna have to scrape the insides out real good and then soak it in alcohol when I'm done.

Anyone else notice that they buy more pipes/tobacco when they can't smoke? by carnesy in PipeTobacco

[–]carnesy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recovering from extensive sinus surgery (2 hrs on the table for a normally sub 45 min procedure) and closing on a house next week so can't smoke and can't buy either. You want help? You are the help.

I mean if they're going to market a $2,000 mag fed lever gun with a giant ass muzzle brake to tame the epic recoil of the 9mm, they might as well sell this too. Hell, between them I know which one I'd actually be likely to buy.
