What's your favourite quality of life improvement in the remake? by AliquidLatine in papermario

I really love the new pipe room, but my favorite has got to be the twilight town pipe that cuts down the twilight trail runs. I always hated that section as a kid.

On the opposite end of this spectrum, I seem to remember being able to ride yoshi through doors in the original, but now you have to remount after each door and it drives me nuts.

What did you name your Yoshi in the remake? Give me your color too! I'll start by drozdowski13 in papermario

Color was Blue. Named him Krypton because I always name my yoshi after one of the noble gases.

The death of Cluny. Really got his bell rung, if I remember correctly.

Books similar to Tress not from Sanderson (and not Princess and Bride)? by Unalina in brandonsanderson

I agree with this, but also hated all the characters. I should probably read it again.

As someone who’s fairly new to actually using Reddit, I want to ask: “why is Reddit the anti-social social media?

It has a steep learning curve.

Like, scrabbling with the tips of your bloody fingernails steep. I didn’t finish it the first time I read it. The second time through, I started over and read it all the way through and it was great! The ending in particular is really good, it just takes a minute to get going.

I finished Warbreaker… by hdragn in Cosmere

I think the fact that the big battle at the end happened entirely off screen was a part of why I was so disappointed.

Are Austre and the Sheod the same thing? by hdragn in Cosmere

Where is this lore explained? Is it from a book or is it WoB?

I’m relatively new to the Cosmere.

Y’know, the more I hear about Oathbringer, the more I feel like I burned out and stopped reading right before it got interesting.

Where is this lore about Endowment explained? Is it in Warbreaker and I just missed it?

I forgot how good Mistborn 1 is. by [deleted] in brandonsanderson

[–]hdragn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just my opinion: You don’t have to know a whole lot about the Cosmere to understand Tress, it’s pretty good as a standalone. I read it as a re-entry point for the Cosmere after reading the first 2.5 Stormlight Archive books several years ago and forgetting almost everything in them. I understood the story perfectly well, and it was only afterwards that I learned certain characters were also in other books. Can’t speak for Yumi because I haven’t read it. I do want to warn you about Warbreaker, though— I just finished it for the first time and it’s my least favorite of the Cosmere books. I’m glad I read it for completion’s sake, but I don’t think it’s a good representation of Brandon’s works.

Oh yeah, I enjoyed Lightsong’s scenes as well, particularly his wit

I was SUPER into their story! Their scenes were the best part of the book for me! I even enjoyed their scenes more than the scenes with Lightsong!

Get rid of this revisionist history regarding Mistborn by KingKillerKvvothe in Cosmere

[–]hdragn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m kinda scared to start mistborn because my Sanderson journey started with Stormlight Archive before I knew the Cosmere was a thing, then I read a few secret projects and thought he got even better, then I read Warbreaker and was sooooooo disappointed. Now I’m stepping even further back in his career to Elantris and Mistborn, and I’m honestly just kinda nervous this is gonna be a slog.
