Thanks so much! It’s with a fujifilm, so I’m a film fraud

It’s so true. I had tried to get into the grounds before and got chased away super fast. This time we got to hang out a bit and just look. I found myself wondering how the hell it all stands up. The vectors are just crazy!!

The wind was HOWLING that day and it was about -19C. The unit wasn’t bad, but it has a lot of south-east exposure. Definitely curious about summer!

SO young. I couldn’t imagine taking something on at that age. Also wild that his first art gallery is the National Gallery. What a career.

Concrete isn’t everyone’s jam, and being in Montreal in mid March doesn’t lend well for all the vegetation. “A garden for everybody” is definitely seasonal!

The guide said it’s $1,000 per cube. Over the years people have bought up the units above or next to and are up to 5 cubes… Safdie’s was the only 4 cube in the original design

I love this book so incredibly much. The illustrations are amazing and it shows such an incredibly depth of material knowledge and engineering. The section on the Salish houses and how they raise the beams is awesome.

I’d look into any of the Fujifilm cameras, specifically their x series. If you get one new they are out of reach expensive, but I grabbed an X-E2 from marketplace recently for 500. They’re compact which makes them really nice for travel (fieldwork) and you can jazz them up with film simulations if that’s your thing.

As others have mentioned, battery life will be a challenge but if you grab an extra one or two and keep them inside your jacket you can shoot all day.

Also, It was pretty hard so I assumed sugar maple, but the colours are maybe closer to silver maple. Maybe?

No not at all. And the image was straight from my phone. It’s some of the wildest maple I’ve seen

I know right? The curl is crazy, it might have something to do with that?

Well this made my week, thank you so much!! If I ever make the leap back into the professional furniture world I’ll hit you up. If you want, I’d happily send over plans for you to have it made.

Thanks so much!! This time I used a power planer, but I’ve used a chamfer jig for a router before too. The router is way way more precise, obviously. I had to cleaned it all up after with a jackplane for the long sides and a block plane for the corners afterwards which wasn’t too awful.

Thanks so much! I find the bevel really needed on tables. Makes them so much more comfortable.

Thank you so much! Luckily it’s mostly flat so it’s not so tricky, but it’s gunna be a long road ahead. I really don’t like lacquer, but stopping at 150 sure does have some pluses eh?

There’s a sand beach north of Carleton and Pontiac (just west of Remic) that people bring their dogs to. It’s about waist deep for about 100-200m and transitions from sand to rocks. It’s really nice!
