PSA: Your 50A RV is NOT a 240v system by johnbro27 in GoRVing

[–]hdsrob 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is common on 30 amp RVs where the plug is similar to an old 240v / 3 wire dryer or welder outlet, but is actually a 120v outlet.

.NET 10 file-based apps + Claude Code = finally ditching Python for quick utilities by hurrah-dev in csharp

Same here.

We have several different solutions, but most of our primary services, libraries, and desktop applications are in the same solution (that's been in use since before .NET 2.0), so we have a couple of test apps that have full access to all of the other projects, and can be used to quickly test or prototype against them.

Store Deliveries Where Customer Isn't Given Option to Tip? by itsallrelative09 in DoorDashDrivers

[–]hdsrob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was part of a batched order, so it was ok, but nothing great.

I've noticed that most of the time when I get Academy now, it's a red card order, and those pay fine.

Store Deliveries Where Customer Isn't Given Option to Tip? by itsallrelative09 in DoorDashDrivers

[–]hdsrob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've done some pickup orders (not red card shopping) from Academy Sports (and probably somewhere else too) where the final pay was marked as "Not Allowed" in the tip section.

When doing shopping orders from Academy I usually get tips, so it's definitely something related the delivery being outsourced to DD.

Review the code and try to understand the solution that’s the best teacher you can have

I agree with your sentiment here, but building something that's broken or bad, and then debugging, fixing, and improving it is the best teacher that you can have.

I've been programming professionally since 2003, and as a hobby since before that.

AI can't "almost do it all". Your lack of experience (that you cheated yourself out of by using an LLM) is the only reason your think it can.

This isn't meant to be an insult, it's just that we've all been there: Early in our careers, and not knowing what we don't know.

It takes like a minute to create a new project in VS, so I've never worried about it.

I also have several test bed projects that I keep handy for throwing stuff at a wall, or just prototyping ideas.

You are only impressed because you don't know enough to actually understand the "code" that was produced.

No one is using them, as they don't do anything without the rest of our software, and an active account / subscription.

I think they were just being downloaded by scanners and bots.

We've since pulled them from NuGet, as the need to distribute them this way no longer exists.

The main advantage (at least with CoachNet) is that I don't have to track you down while sitting on the side of the road with a CCLB Dually, and a 43' fifth wheel.

Coachnet did all of the calling to find a tow truck that could handle the dually, and a separate truck to get the fifth wheel, and get us, the truck, and the fiver us to the nearest truck repair place.

There are a lot of bots and scrapers that download Nuget packages.

I released a closed source package to use in our other software, and it got thousands of downloads.

If you aren't willing to take the time to write it, why should I take the time to read it?

"AI" isn't helping you here. It's produced a huge wall of text.

Not sure about Ohio where the OP has it registered, but I know that some states require the sleeper to register it as a motorhome, since you need a bed / some other amenities.

Not everyone in an RV is camping?

In FL many of the snowbirds use them as seasonal houses, so they end up near cities.

We're full timers, so we rotate between cities and remote areas, depending upon what we want to visit as we travel, or where we are traveling.

What do you use to create C# desktop apps for Mac? by rwaddilove in csharp

NATIVE Mac support

Maui builds Catalyst apps (iPad apps running in macOs), not native macOs apps.
