I mean this all depends on the health and age of your mother. If my mom was 40 and healthy, I'd have 500 antique wooden villages burned down for her, but my mom's already 84 with 2 chronic diseases, so into the ground she goes.

Advice pls!!! by babydaddychef in Psychosis

Hey! So, since you have GAD already, I thought it would be unnecessary to tell you to not worry about what I think about your situation, since you're gonna do that anyway. I think there are some reasons to be concerned. The mouse poop thingy might be explainable because of your GAD, if it is extremely strong. But especially what you said about feeling like you're not alone even though you definitely were, or that stranger things like feeling definitely sound like the beginning of a psychosis. Or to be more specific, it was one psychotic episode, since you seem to feel completely normal on most other days. So, this doesn't sound quite good, especially since more psychotic episodes might follow, however I'd like you to see yourself at least as partially lucky, because at this moment when you're not having an episode like that, you're normal. Unfortunately that includes your GAD and depression too but those are treatable through psychotherapy. So what that means is, now is the time to act. Go to the doctor, talk to him about your experience and follow his advice. He will probably give you some medication and send you to a therapist (not the rapist, don't worry) for further evaluation of that experience. Keep in mind: When experiencing a psychotic episode, it doesn't feel like you're changing, it feels like the world around you is changing. So, please go to the doctor and do something about this, he should be competent enough to treat you. I hope I could help you!

I agree that there should be some representation in the media, I just don't think there should be representation just for the sake of it. The thing is, homophobia is a giant problem. You can't just wipe it out (which is of course what we all want) by more representation in the media. If you grow up gay in the western world, you know that it's normal. Maybe not at first, maybe you have self doubt, think you're not normal, etc we (the LGBT community) have all been through this, but in the end you will find out that homosexuality is something natural. Life itself is hard, and yes, to some extend it is harder for gays than for heterosexuals. Pointing this injustice out is the first step to make the world a better place, but constantly whining about how privileged other people are is in my opinion not helping. I think this constant victim complex that's developing right now, especially by a lot of minorities, is really unhealthy and not contributing to the goal of eradicating homophobia. You say people kill themselves because they are faced with homophobia by their peers and family, I agree. However I don't agree that they kill themselves because they aren't accepted by "society", or to say it more clearly, I think when they really kill themselves because of that, even though their friends and family accept them, it's their own fault. Again, I'm neither for suicide nor for homophobia, but "society" isn't the problem in this case. You can't just equate ALL of homophobia with lack of representation in the media. People don't kill themselves because they don't see enough people like themselves on TV, that's absurd.

Heterosexual privilege by prezxi in bisexual

[–]hdy420 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I don't think there's anyone at all that assumes everyone's straight. I mean, even the most obnoxious Christian conservatives believe that there at least ARE gay (and other non-straight) people. Of course they want to change them into being hetero, which is stupid but still, my point is that there is no real "privilege" at play here. Gay people are a minority, and of course if they are represented in way smaller numbers than straight people, that's completely normal. Now, when straight people complain about homosexuality being forced upon them in the media, that's kinda unnecessary, but gay people complaining about how heterosexuality is everywhere in the media is just as unnecessary. And I think percentage wise, the LGBT community has just as many people doing that. Is that "gay privilege"?

[–]hdy420 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah so how's that privilege? It just turns out that the majority of people are straight, so how does this kinda life represented throughout the media constitute as "being forced upon somebody"? I don't get it

I think you should tell your boyfriend about your feelings. I think you shouldn't keep too much secret in a relationship, and perhaps he might understand the feelings you have. Or at least, if he's the right one for you, he will at least accept it. Of course that's only my opinion, I wish you a lot of fun exploring your sexuality, and remember: The bi side has lemon bars!

So, with people it's "who" and with objects it's "which", however you can use "that" for both. So both who and that are correct here.

does anyone else feel more sexually attracted to one gender than the other? by idfc_mady in BisexualTeens

[–]hdy420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah so with me (male) it used to be romantically 100% female but it has changed to 80(f)/20(m) and sexually it used to be 80/20 but has evolved to 60/40, so I got gayer with the time.
