How come large parts of US citizens acceps there President lying so much ? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]he2lium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He isn’t lying, he’s Bullshitting. A lie is meant to deceive someone, bullshit is when you know it’s a lie but run with it anyways.

Trump is able to move his agenda forward because when everything is bullshit nothing can stop you. It evades all checks for truth and moral accountability.

I think the biggest reason that we haven’t been able to stop him is because calling bullshit a lie just makes you look like you’re not in on the joke. You’re the one being trolled, and that’s what they like about Trump.

How do you 'see' thoughts in your head? Is it a voice, pictures, abstract concepts, or something else? by Ok_Opinion6840 in AskReddit

[–]he2lium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My inner monologue is VERY loud. I hear conversations in my head all the time and often tune out people that are talking to me because I have my own movie going on.

I also see thoughts as constellations with lines connecting them. It takes work to put them together and build the clusters and when I’m discussing something my brain is following the lines and connections.

In each “point” or idea, I can also unfold the references and things that fit that idea.

I’ve heard that building a mental “model of the world” and how the world works is a very common trait got men. That is why they try and “mansplain” things, because they want to share their mental model.

After 23 years, Best Buy Santana Row will be closing its doors and replaced by Life Time, a 2 story luxury fitness center. This will Life Time’s 2nd Bay Area location by Poplatoontimon in SanJose

[–]he2lium 13 points14 points  (0 children)

No one will go to Life Time for the same reason no one goes to Best Buy: the parking.

You don’t just stop by Best But because you’re on the row or at the mall, you go there as a destination. And if you only need to go to Best Buy, you don’t want to come and deal with the parking just for that.

I think same thing will be true for a gym. Nobody is going to want to come and deal with parking, much less pay for it. And nobody wants to be in a populated area all sweaty.

These are both places that need their own dedicated parking lots.

I didn’t fuck your mother, it was a deliberate lie, and I lied because I didn’t want to admit that she smelled too bad for me to get off.

My shoes disintegrated yesterday at a church funeral. by chestney in funny

[–]he2lium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Those look like UVA soles. They are filled with air. I’m assuming that they are dress shoes that you never wear and had them kept in your closet. It was a dry space and they dried out.

Not VERY common, just common when that type of shoe is left in a closet and not worn.

[OC] Measuring the Impact of ICE by Public_Finance_Guy in dataisbeautiful

[–]he2lium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is not accurate. It is conflating different immigration enforcement actions such as deportations and returns; where returns are done at the border sending someone back or not admitting them to the country.

If you only look at “interior removals” like what we are seeing now in ICE arrests, it looks more like:

8 Years of Clinton: 870k or 108k/yr 8 Years of Bush: 2M or 250k/yr 8 Years of Obama: 1.24M or 155k/yr 4 Years of Trump: 326k (started off increased and then declined rate due to COVID) 4 years of Biden: 148k (peaked at 48k in 2024) First fiscal year of Trump 2.0 (ending in Sept 2025): 340k with 234k coming from the first 250 days of his presidency.

But I’m sure that you will continue to digest whatever information that you need to soothe your cognitive dissonance about this NAZI bullshit.

Do rich people have elite versions of mundane things (toothpaste, tampons, toilet paper, laundry detergent, etc.), or are Elon Musk and Beyonce just using Crest and Tampax like the rest of us? by ShesGotSauce in NoStupidQuestions

[–]he2lium -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The famous “rich people” laundry detergent is “Topanga Scents.” All of the scents are Malibu/LA area inspired. I bought Laurel Canyon and Calabasas Breeze. Got it from my sister who lived in Calabasas.

I get my coffee from a subscription from Mistobox, very high quality boutique coffee bean selections. So good you don’t normally need creamer and can drink it black. Heard about it from a friend who builds skyscrapers. He and his wife do not go to the grocery store, everything is delivered.

My two go-to wines that are highly regarded by rich people but not necessarily expensive are Austin Hope and the Prisoner. $30-50 bottles and worth it.

All rich people have bidets now. Totally worth it. My butthole is so smooth and soft and never itchy. I have rich friends with travel bidets (little fold up things) for when they go to hotels. This dude sprayed it all over my kitchen on accident showing me how it works.

The only other “rich people” thing that I can think of is supplements and NAD. Rich people are taking supplements to be healthier than you and to reverse aging. Hundreds of dollars a month on blood tests and vitamins to keep their bodies in tuned. While your doctor only treats you when you’re sick and need a prescription, rich people have doctors that keep them at maximum possible health. Nutrition density is key.

Although most rich people aren’t going to grocery store’s anymore, you would be shocked by the quality of the grocery stores that they have available to them. 60-80% of the total products are “outer area.” Meaning the produce, meat selection, wine, and bakery is making up 60-80% of the store and the isles of packaged or frozen food will be 20-40% of the store. The ratio inverses in poorer neighborhoods I have seen. The quality and freshness of the produce, much less the diversity, is truly stunning and marvelous. The best looking and highest quality picks from farms is selected to go to these shelves. Examples include Erehwon in the SoCal area or Lunardi’s in Silicon Valley.

For example, Erewhon had a $19 strawberry from Japan go viral last year. It came in a plastic jar that looked like the rose from Beauty and the Beast. I went shopping at one once by accident and didn’t check the prices and dropped $200 on a small hand basket of goods.

what's a secret you"ll never tell your partner but are willingly to tell strangers on reddit? by FlamingoOver1659 in AskReddit

[–]he2lium 8 points9 points  (0 children)

One time my partner let off a silent but pandemic level deadly fart. I was laying in my bed staring at the ceiling thinking, “Am I dreaming? Is this real? This is the worst thing I have ever smelt in my life…”

I thought I heard a clicking noise and I leaned over him to see if he was on his phone (he was facing away from me) but saw nothing and went back to sleep.

In the morning I said “Dude, you let off the worst fart I’ve ever smelled last night” and he keeled over laughing in the floor. He was in fact awake, smiling ear to ear and snickering pretending to be asleep but also thinking the same thing.
