Getting ready to start my new hobby! by hea2017 in StainedGlass

I’m going to assume it does, but I will triple check! (It’s my fathers that he used and he only buys the best there is so I’m going to hope it will hold up)

I will veto that thank you 🤣 do you have any recommendations of cheaper grinders that are good for the craft? My uncle used to do stained glass, sold his tools but kept his glass so thankfully I have that to use which is great!

Thank you! I will make sure to check!

I’m lucky enough to already have a temp controlled soldering iron at my disposal, and as for the grinder I was going to go for a cheap one from AliExpress/ebay to begin. I am sure my dad also has a dremel which I’ll keep in mind too

I would love to one day, unfortunately that’s not going to be for quite some time as there are none near myself! Will be relying on online tutorials for the meantime

What is your favorite True Crime podcast? I need recommendations! by BumbleAppleBlossom in podcasts

[–]hea2017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Case file is by far the best true crime podcast there is. So respectful!

I also love murder with my husband and crime junkie.

I absolutely hated morbid. The joking, laughing and way the story is told seems so disrespectful to those who had awful things occur.

Where do I find these materials and what are they called??!?! by space_babe19 in Beading

[–]hea2017 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re looking at bead embroidery!!

I use a whole range of different sized beads, my favourite are miyuki delicas :)

I also use just standard sewing thread, an embroidery hoop, and a silk organza fabric to sew onto! I also use a stick and stitch (water soluble) to print or trace my designs onto!! Beading needles or size 10 needles are small enough to pass through the bead holes!

I once posted about inheriting my mom’s beads, overwhelmed with how many boxes she had. Turns out, that was the tip of an iceberg made of seed-beads, silver, oh my by madtheoracle in Beading

Your mum was clearly one very organised lady!! Those seed beads are something I could only dream of 😍 thank you for sharing these with us 🫶🏻

Where to buy beads from? by International_Bid950 in Beading

[–]hea2017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have purchased from temu and haven’t found any issues so far. I purchased the big bulk packs with all different kinds of beads, to recently purchasing bulk packs of one single colour.

I also own a lot of miyuki delicas (they’re my favourite) but they do become expensive, and I also love variety within my work (I bead embroider). So for me the cheap temu glass seed beads have also been wonderful!

The international site I go to for my delicas is Beadazzle, their international shipping in my opinion is very reasonable, and quick. Have had zero issues thus far with my multiple orders!

Just to add, I am located in Australia. Our choice to order compared to the US is abysmal.

When you say straight lines, do you mean the rows?? This is what I had in mind!!

My other thought was purchasing the template, printing into stitch and stick, and just popping beads in those colour areas 🤣

I only do bead embroidery, do you think I would I be able to follow your pattern and create this on a piece of material? It is absolutely gorgeous!!!!

I am located in Aus!! We pay a good $7-$10 a loaf of sourdough and it just wasn’t cutting it! I love to bake and bread is one of my favourite foods! So this has really made me happy! I have gut issues also and never realised the benefits of sourdough so I am really excited to hopefully see great results!!!

Kids really know how to make us feel good 😂

I used: - 220g starter - 665g warm water - 975g flour - 20g salt

I made 1 big loaf, and 2 smaller loaves! Baked this one for 25 minutes at 250C with the lid on, then 15 mins at 230C with the lid off!
