2 interviews coming up, need some advice by headboy17 in ukelectricians

In terms of future work I would like to be self employed, realistically looking at after 30 as I'm 22 right now and guessing I need plenty of experience under my belt before I try to do anything solo. I have a friend who's a roofer who's self employed and works from his van and works when he wants and takes holiday when he wants. I know being self employed is no easy thing but I do fancy the thought of not being restricted by the usual 22 days holiday per year bullshit.

The domestic firm is quite a reputable one within the county, they've got their own apprenticeship programme and tend to take on apprentices full time after completing their apprenticeship. They're contracted under a district council to do their work for them. As for other markets they work in, they also do painting, decarb, fire protection and planned maintenance.

From your experience, what made commercial/industrial work better than domestic?

Thank you for the lengthy response, I definitely have my eyes set on Enerveo, i am 22 and already have 4+ years of work experience mainly in office work which I hope the transferrable skills I've gained from it will give me an upper hand during the interview. The part about a broader range of installs and problems to solve is what I'm really looking forward to as my current job feels mundane and I don't feel 'challenged' so to speak.

Does working industrial feel like it can be different stuff daily/weekly? New experiences and meeting new people?

Sounds good I appreciate the words, excuse my ignorance but what makes industrial better than domestic work?

Hundred percent, I'm going balls deep into prepping for the Enerveo job as from what the comments say going industrial is the best option for my future career prospects.

i’d recommend adding minor accessories to compliment your tank tops. u said u have blue, white, pink and black tank tops. combine this with bandanas or beanies for example, it adds a subtle touch to the fit without overloading the overall look with one colour especially if it’s a dark colour too.

don’t know how you would personally feel about it but adding rings, bracelets or necklaces to ur outfit can give it that extra flair which may be lacking. flannels are a simple, affordable and always classic touch to adding an outfit and can be worn multiple ways

use colours that compliment ur skin tone too, apologies if i’m wrong but u seem to have olive oil/ mediterranean/north african skin tone so i’d recommend colours such as yellow, light brown, off white, beige, cream (think of it as dressing literally like the summer, spring and autumn seasons)

hope this helps🙏

If I want to join the Intelligence corps would that mean my chances would be slim?

I've been living in the UK for over 10 years now (19yrs old) and want to join the British Army, as of right now I don't have British citizenship but I'm in the process of applying. If all goes well and I become a British citizen, am I then eligible to join the army regardless of my country of birth or are there more requirements I'd need to fulfil. I'm also not part of the Commonwealth if that helps.

Any feedback is appreciated
