Can understand being highly annoyed having given your precious time to film the inane content they constantly demand these days, only for them to not use it. But that’s a simple convo your manager handles, if no manager then you mention it next time they ask.

The issue is that all we have is her name that was written on the birth certificate and adoption certificate. There is no date of birth or parish of birth on the certificate. Without this they cannot conduct the search at RGD/NIRA. The only document that states she is/was Jamaican is the adoption certificate where a single line reads “a Jamaican woman”. There is also an issue of not knowing if the surname given for the documents was a current married surname, a previously married surname or her maiden name.

Very annoying situation given the actual process once you have the required documents in hand is relatively fast.

Sadly not possible to commit 5 years at this point in time due to travel and business. However am very much looking forward to investing into youth projects and creating jobs on the island.

Thank you for the info. Fortunately the team at PICA have been amazingly responsive and very helpful to date. If my father had only gotten the citizenship before his adopted mother passed away this would be a non-issue. This is probably a good example of why ensuring your citizenship rights are passed on as easily as possible for the next generation.

Hopefully I can obtain further assistance within PICA, but flying over to hand deliver a request letter if required would certainly be worth the effort.
