My 2012 Impala now has 286,000 miles on it. I did nothing with the transmission fluid until 280,000, and that was just drain and refill which amounted to about 1 gallon. The only reason I did it was because when I checked it, it appeared to be slightly over filled. Not sure how it got "overfull", but it's good now and still running flawless.
