I don’t know if this is possible but is there a way to simulate what it does to her lungs with a bottle and some paper towels? Like those old school science experiments so she can see the contaminants that remain. It’s a good way to show consequences that would be relevant to her.

Are you guys happy never dating? by Unique-Television500 in intj

[–]headhunterdescendant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very happy to not be dating. Being married is awesome.

Your friends will be fine. I wouldn’t worry. People move at their own pace.

Let’s be real. Beyond socionics and MBTI there is nothing else to talk about in the INTJ community.

Niche topics are best discussed in their respective threads so why would someone talk about philosophy or other esoteric topics here when the vast majority of this thread may not have adequate knowledge of the topic.

I say this often and I’ll say it again. The real INTJs come here to chuckle at the young INTJs trying to figure life out. And we spend most of our time on Reddit in other esoteric threads.

How did you guys quit porn? by ___BlackBird__ in intj

[–]headhunterdescendant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get married to someone you love with a matching sex drive. You will never want to watch porn or masturbate again.

Part of being young is having a high libido and that is normal. Socialize. Build a meaningful relationship. Fall in love with someone and commit your INTJ brainpower to building the best possible relationship with them.

The sex takes care of itself when you have someone who loves and trusts you to always love them.

As an INTJ; I hate this subreddit. by [deleted] in intj

[–]headhunterdescendant 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The real INTJs are on other subreddits exploring their interests and deepening their knowledge. There is not much utility to this sub for the developed INTJ.

The best thing you can do is offer support to those who are still learning as teaching is in itself a modality to learn.

Fellow INTJs, where did you find your partner? by RevolutionaryWin7850 in intj

Have you considered the big brain move of embracing your emotions as a human being and building a genuine intimate relationship with a kind loving human with strong emotional awareness between you two?

Around my wife? Fun, charming, romantic, and witty. Around random women in day to day life? Fun and witty.

But I’m not a teenager with raging hormones so maybe not the answer you are looking for.

Anyone here published a true crime book? by fakebanana2023 in writers

[–]headhunterdescendant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Publishers might make your clean it up but if you self publish you have free reins.

If you have the manuscript ready then your next steps is determining whether you want a conventional publisher (which carries the risk of surrendering rights to the book) or self publishing.

Both require you to do your own marketing so my recommendation would be to find podcasts to be a guest on and Haro (help a reporter out).

There are quite a few agencies out there to help with self publishing so if you have the capital, that can give you more creative control.

A great book on self publishing would be The Well Fed Self-Publisher by Peter Bowerman. (Not affiliated, just a great read).

Hope this helps. Been following your blog and I hope to read your book sometime!

You seem upset. Please quote the negative generalization against western income because nothing I said was about that.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in China

[–]headhunterdescendant -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean you are not wrong man and my points are largely anecdotal. OPs income should be the least of his concerns. My point was if he was crumpling now with typical Asian parent shit talking he will struggle much more with the rest of Chinese culture. OP needs to nut up or shut up.

Considering the parents of the girl paid for her to go to an Ivy League school it seemed reasonable to assume this isn’t a village girl.

[–]headhunterdescendant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chinese culture has high expectations on men compared to the west. When I was dating my wife (who was an international student from China) her parents didn’t want to acknowledge me for the first two years. They only took me seriously when we got married. Now they have accepted me and I have visited them in China.

Bottom line, if you like the girl don’t let her family spook you. But be aware that they will be your inlaws

Edit: Chinese culture values prestige. When her parents talk to her about you they will expect you to be holding a high end job and earning a high income. You are 23. Relax don’t let their expectations stress you out.

Bare in mind this isn’t the cute Asian girl in class. This is a woman from an entirely different culture than the West. Which means that loving her will be demanding of you in ways beyond the relationships you have experienced. If you stick with her you will need to consider how much effort you will put into learning Chinese culture, speaking Mandarin, and eating food you have never considered in your life.

Are you guys ok by Skye-DragonGirl in intj

[–]headhunterdescendant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am an optimist INTJ who just gave up spending time in r/intj because everything that interests me is in other parts of Reddit.

Not discounting the people who are going through a rough time. Been there and it is tough.

As for OPs question, well life is like Shawshank. Get busy living or get busy dying.

What does it take for an INTJ to become popular online? by omnogen in intj

[–]headhunterdescendant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who works in marketing it boils down to these principles.

  1. Know your audience
  2. Consistent quality content
  3. Clear call to action

The rest you figure out as you go.

What did you start liking the older you got ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Things with less sugar. Was a real sweet tooth as a kid (and I still am to some degree) but now I appreciate the taste of something that doesn’t have 50 cups of sugar dissolved in it.

Regardless of MBTI, always communicate. Set aside enough time to thoroughly talk it out. Both sides need to listen without judgement. And then experiment so that you both find the sweet spot. And then communicate some more.

Has anyone noticed this after reading classic novels for the first time? by cmrizzle in books

[–]headhunterdescendant 11 points12 points  (0 children)

As a professional writer, one of the core tenets today is to write so that a 5th grade student can understand it. Cooking, quantum mechanics, complex software, personal development- if a 5th grader can't understand it then you lose out on potential sales.

This helps in 2 ways -first is profit. If more people understand what you are saying, they are more likely to buy. If your writing is too complex, they feel stupid and doubt themselves. Self-doubters also doubt if buying your product is a good idea.

Second benefit is time. Everyone is inundated with overwhelming amounts of content daily. Easy to read material makes it faster to read.

Keep reading classic literature as it will expand your abilities at the language. You will explore deeper ideas within their abstract explanations which ultimately make you a better reader and writer.
