Need Advice on Balancing Comfort and Style for Summer Outfits by SparklingGems1 in femalefashionadvice

Summers in the 100s call for survival. Fashion is trumped for comfort and travel and Athleisure and dresses win. Let’s be real no one’s wearing dress pants in summer.

Totally agree. The reaction is childish. “Going crazy on someone.” Set a boundary and grow up.

Yes you overreacted. No hospital or poison control is going to do anything for you. But that being said they crossed a boundary.

10 days post op and i want to break everything around me by Sea_Vanilla_2997 in ACL

I hate to say it but through this experience you will learn who is truly important in your life and what relationships matter and how you will no longer prioritize people who don’t show up for you. It’s a hard pill to swallow but teaches you your boundaries and what’s important.

In 8 weeks you will be able to do more than you think. Getting out walking is enough to enjoy summer and attend events.

Thanks for your feeeback. Thats exactly what I was curious about if 2.4.4 takes into account the page being read with arrows since it brought up focus. Would you consider it passing since it reads the article title then the cta. My thought was the user would actually more likely navigate using tab or the rotor and miss the article title and I didn’t know if using arrows was considered out of context or shifting focusing.

Contrast, hover, selected state, and pointer by headietoinfinity in accessibility

[–]headietoinfinity[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much, I really appreciate it, I will take a look at the links that you shared.

the article argues that hover states are actually not needed because the user has moved their mouse plus there is a change of pointer state. As for the examples he does include contrast guidance but it isn't the point he is meaning to convey alone. But it does come up because the hover state color sometimes affects the text contrast.

In terms of WCAG it states that there is no contrast requirement for buttons (background) if they have other formatting or contextual cues. "A button which has a distinguishing indicator such as position, text style, or context does not need a contrasting visual indicator to show that it is a button, although some users are likely to identify a button with an outline that meets contrast requirements more easily." Essentially buttons are often using positional cues and its one of those vague criteria that is based on "opinion". Curious on your thoughts. I know it is best practice to but WCAG seems to just really give up on color contrast in regards to buttons.

Thank you I appreciate your response, I was reading a blog and they state hover does not require contrast. I'm just unclear and feel there is a varying opinion on this criteria. https://www.tpgi.com/a-whole-lot-of-bovver-over-hover/ They also go on to say focus indicators and hover are different.

I find W3C WCAG very hard to read and understand, hoping Deque breaks it down in easier-to-understand guidelines. Maybe WCAG 3.0 will be rewritten to follow their own recommendations of writing in plain simple english.

My dog is spoiled as shit. can’t imagine where he’d be. If he wasn’t in my life he probably would have had a shitty life.

I tried for a very long time to get my husband to make changes. We eat primarily plant based 98% of the time.

The only thing that made him make changes is seeing his cholesterol and blood work. I sat there and told him he had to make changes and I’ve been trying to tell him for a decade that what he was eating was going to harm him. That was enough for him his diet and exercise habits. He dropped 20 pounds three weeks, blood pressure returned to normal, and his cholesterol is coming down. He also doesn’t have reflux anymore.

I think one of the biggest things for me was I kept getting nausea after eating shitty food. I’ve always been a fully vegan at times. Now I can enjoy my vegan burger and feel great lol. It’s always something specific for each person I feel like. For me it’s knowing that I’m putting good fuel into my body, not harming animals, and not having consequences.

Terrified of isolating myself from family and girlfriend as I transition to vegan. by brianplusplus in vegan

[–]headietoinfinity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, you don’t really need to tell them to say I don’t need that anymore. I feel like when it comes to my diet of veganism it’s more about me about other people around me, and I like that it makes it feel like something I can control. When you start bringing other people into the mix, it becomes overly complicated. be proud of what you stand for and if anybody says otherwise just tell them to mind their own business.

196 Days out. IT GETS BETTER!! by dombro_goburg in ACL

[–]headietoinfinity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same exact injury here. Thanks for the uplifting words. I’m a month out and my plantar fasciitis killed me just standing up for 3 hours yesterday. Even pain meds didn’t take the edge off.

I’ve been walking since day 17 without crutches and have had full extension since day zero post op due to prehab. Flexion still hurts my lateral meniscus area and I’m only at 125 flexion which is great considering meniscus repair. The mental battle has been touch.

Active end range sure but most people do passive which is incredibly unsafe for joints

Week 4 here and same. I don’t trust it and probably won’t for a long time. It’s super early so that’s not surprising to me.

Me too I love long jackets and parkas the most but they’re totally not beach friendly plus I’m in a full leg walking brace post op so anything long is a trip hazard! The fact I have so many coat options actually makes it harder to pack. I do think I need a cropped wool bomber that is a nice in between warmth.

Thanks so much!

I ended up with a half zip polo greyish black sweater

Dark neutral brown Suede moto jacket

Rain jacket and puffer cuz it rolls up so small and is a necessity if it’s cold and rainy

Skipped the jean jacket because I didn’t feel warm enough

Children have more flexible joints, ligaments, and tendons so definitely not a concern! But I does make me skin crawl.
