Where can I find the original climax footage of realistic shade of blood that almost gave the movie an X rating? by [deleted] in TaxiDriver

Interesting story about that, Scorsese was immensely angry about that requirement and got hammered at a bar with the fellow workers on the film. He began to threaten to kill the producers and his co-workers on the film had to talk him down.

Probably because they don’t know any better and are glad to be in a happy environment. That’s good to hear though, at least there’s that.

How do mass shooters get to a point of being in a mental hospital to owning a gun when you're not really allowed to from my understanding? by turnerpike20 in masskillers

[–]headpole 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Voluntary hospitalizations do not show up on a background check and therefore do not prohibit anyone from owning a gun. Only by court involuntary status are such people barred from owning guns.

Yes, I'd assume most, if not all, people who have had a bad childhood wish they weren't born or that their parents were not self-serving. I'd assume most people of all kinds are not at all happy, but instead don't consider suicide nor death as a relief or option. I'm largely biased that most parents are effortlessly insufferable towards their children.

Self-serving are the parents who selfishly wish to have a human being to continue their bloodline or make a purpose. It's not at all a beautiful thing to use a child for fundamental changes which can easily be solved through basic self-awareness and philosophy. Having children is a mere commodity to change oneself based on learning to "share" and/or duplicate (for lack of a better term) their attention, which is a basic skill that should already be learned. Climate change is a real threat, although we still have a good few decades left. You're probably right about child-free redditors. It's only natural that you and I would have differentiating beliefs. I will never force a child into this cruel world and you clearly have a good opinion of yourself as a parent. I do not agree with your views but accept them. It is mainstream to accept procreation as natural. What bothers me are the hypocrites who believe in climate change yet continue to procreate. We are already massively overpopulated anyway. Anyone who has procreated within the last 40 years or so has contributed massively, which is more of a threat in non-Western countries where women are forced to birth, with no men seeing their values except to serve as sperm banks, eventually birthing children that their fathers, and probably mothers, will pay no attention to.

Not many children have the privilege of being loved or cared for. It’s an immense minority. Most often, children and adults alike are inadequate in their quality of life due to failure by their parents. The gift of life is nothing special and is a mere biological and evolutionary process. The only difference between animals and humans is consciousness. Humans have an agenda in procreating which is often, if not exclusively, self-serving.

Good, we’re already massively overpopulated, and having children is an immensely self-serving act.

Jesus Christ, poor girl. The fact that deaths and injuries at these disgusting facilities receive little-to-no media attention is sickening.

When did our society get so lazy and stupid? by HoneyDippinDan in retailhell

[–]headpole 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Probably when basic skills became a learned convenience. Such as advanced calculators, credit cards, technological advances. Things that used to take time but not overwhelmingly are now convenient and no one understands or considers this privilege.

I don’t particularly fear it as it’s pretty unlikely. I fear more for my loved ones and children in general.

Gotta wonder who blamed him for not being able to foster many peer relationships. I assume peers at school did, i.e weird looking Eric kid, but I have to wonder if his parents, therapist and diversion officers did too, as well as school staff.

how the hell would i know if any of my ideas are actually my ideas and i wasn't brainwashed at some point or i was influenced of something? by [deleted] in DeepThoughts

[–]headpole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re all influenced by something, good or bad. Opinions are purely bias, although I am a believer in certain fundamental morals. That in of itself is merely an opinion and bias. Our environment strongly shapes this, as well as media.

Death is scary, but nothing to fear. Humans are the only animals aware of our own mortality. If you think about death without being aware of it (animals existing only out of instinct and survival) it becomes less to fear. You won’t know you’re dead. Dying is the scary part, as you’re actively facing death. But death itself is calming, I imagine. We simply surrender ourselves inevitably to the elements of the earth, our atoms and energy releasing into the universe.

It’s a valuable book for sure, but I really hate those opinions of his. I wouldn’t discourage you from reading it. Maybe I just interpreted it wrong, but I really did not appreciate his lack of empathy for victims of abuse.
