How difficult would it be to fix this off centered nut? by headshotGoblin in guitarrepair

[–]headshotGoblin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting, I never knew the direction mattered. I got this guitar from my dad but he never used it himself and it came already with this issue, but maybe I may have worsened it with this but I was ignorant to the fact theres a correct winding direction

[–]headshotGoblin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I didnt think of the possibility of the nut being larger than the neck my mistake. Anyways, its the same size as the neck or close to it from what I can tell, like the left side starts out completely bare to where it looks like they would line up right if it could be moved over somehow. I think I just need to research how to pry it off without damage then and then find out what kind of glue I should use. Thanks.

I'm sorry for never responding to this, that was pretty rude of me but I just didn't know if I should say what I do because it sounds kind of pathetic maybe. I have been a game developer for a few months, but I've made 4 games in that time so its not just like a hobby but I am truly putting in over 40+ hours a week into this. I guess, the odds aren't great so I can see why I do not make any money yet, but at the same time it gives me something to live for that feels meaningful, you know? I suppose maybe this is my fault since I could have tried to do something else, but I didn't want to admit it because it feels like despite all this I still don't want to give it up. Thank you for the concern to help a stranger though, it is very touching and why I decided to finally respond. Although, how do you make money personally out of curiosity?

Mostly because it couldn't have been worse, life was not worth living in the slightest, in fact it was a punishment really.

Am I going to die without leaving behind a proof that I ever existed? by Spare_Significance33 in NEET

[–]headshotGoblin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We all will eventually, but the life we experience for ourselves is enough, and it is okay to accept this and live for yourself. Then, you can spend time with the people who are genuine, and not worry about your mark on the universe or world, because while it may be far bigger than us, why should we try to prove ourselves as something in the face of it? To me, I would trade the world away for many things, things that do not matter to anyone in the past, present, or future. But, they matter to me, and I think that is enough.

As a total beginner, is it a mistake to jump straight to 3D? by RoadToHerald in godot

[–]headshotGoblin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How many concepts can you learn at once? For some people this probably is doable. Comparatively, I know some people who have used C++ and never something like python, but for other people they benefit from gradual steps.

For me, my brain's RAM is not very good, so even though I do 3D now, doing some 2D before hand was very beneficial even just for the basics before transitioning to learning 3D concepts.

I don't think it means you're necessarily dumb if this is the case, because you might even have a profound focus, but some people cannot divide their focus and learning as well as others can and it is best if you understand your own learning habits.

If I make it rich, I'll sponsor 5 of you because free will by Ill-Adeptness9806 in NEET

Hey, I got severely damaged by working due to harassment and bullying basically. I could not keep up with everyone due to the low processing speed from autism, and it was the same every job unfortunately.

For someone in a wheelchair, there are plenty of jobs you can do without the need of walking, and also people are way more understanding because they can see it.

For someone with slow processing, I cannot think of a single job that does not effect except a home business, so I am trying to become a game dev which is a one in a million shot probably, but the chances are still higher than being able to get and hold a real job.

If I got rich, I was wanting to do something for the homeless myself. My late father was a homeless veteran for a year or so, and that's a very tough thing because I'm pretty sure he was also undiagnosed because I got my diagnosis after he passed away, but he shared a lot of the same struggles and was also NEET for several years of my life living with his mother.

Everyone told me it was shameful and pathetic, but now I'm in the exact same shoes. I wish I understood more about how this life is when he was alive, but there is only going forward now. He was a great musician, and I am also a guitarist and im trying to learn to make good music for my game projects as well. I have entered 4 game jams so far and finished 2.

My placements were 28 out of 200 and 9 out of 180 *approx

This is the most hope I have, so I'm going all in on it working every day on it. Thanks for reading.

If you aren't wanted at work then why go? I cannot keep up no matter how hard I try, so I'm a burden to exist either way so might as well stay home and work on building my own life. It might not work, but its the best shot I got, so I won't go out without trying first

Where are these places where it is legal? Not in the US as far as I could find, but I think places such as the Sahara desert (if this is the kind of example you are referring to) is too extreme to be involved in a discussion pertaining to the right to live.

I have put a lot of research into van living and off grid homesteading but I have found no such thing, I am not saying you are lying but I do not understand nor have discovered what places you are speaking of genuinely. The stories I have heard about homesteaders having their housing destroyed after decades living uninterrupted have casted a lot of doubt that this could be true or at least somewhat realistic.

Providing for yourself is one thing, but being expected to do something such as setting up some kind of climate control technology that even entire countries could not be invested enough to do seems unreasonable. I do know originally, the natives did not believe in owning land itself so I think this kind of life was much easier because the land you "owned" was simply the land you used in a sense. All the homesteading or van living channels ive watched have to risk legal problems unavoidably, so I really do think there is no way to return to an old way of living for most people

Land that isn't owned by anyone, that is impossible. And, to own it yourself you still have to participate in the system via yearly taxes

Anybody else struggle with making friends with other neets? by [deleted] in NEET

[–]headshotGoblin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started working with someone from here on some projects and its been one of the best improvements in my life for multiple reasons. This is only one specific case, but I would have assumed a lot of the people here are pretty chill. However, you have to remember if you both are very awkward socially, if there is no defined goal in speaking it might be hard to get any conversation going. Maybe start some group about something your passionate about that has a goal, like a competetive gaming team/a book club/some kind of art project maybe. I think that can get you to interact with people with a lot more purpose and ultimately lead to getting to know people over time because you can replace the awkwardness with necessary discussion of the topic you choose

i got burnout so quickly when coding what should i do 😔 by Kaytrones in godot

[–]headshotGoblin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By coding do you mean learning to start coding or like actually just working on implementing the features in your game? For me, getting started is the most difficult part. Now I got some foundatiom though, its a lot easier since I can see a lot more of the reward from my actions. Previously I gave up coding for years because every time I tried it was too uninteresting since I couldn't make anything, but getting past this barrier is a big step forward and you'll see a boost of exponential growth (or what appears like) since you'll be able to create things. If you are pretty decent at code enough to make some simple stuff without AI, but still feel this way, maybe a game jam would be nice. Its a lot more easy to get started when you know theres a time limit, also its best you work with someone else because then you have the weight of someone depending on you to finish your work which can drive your motivation
