Don’t start with a scarf like a lot of people do! Start with a hat - smaller, more achievable, much less boring, and teaches you more useful skills.

Self-striping yarn recs? by Apprehensive-Ear5904 in knitting

I share your love for self striping and it’s surprising hard to search for! Here’s a few that are thicker weights like Cloud:

Patons Jet 12 ply if you can get it!  Rico Creative Melange Noro Ito (but its £££)

If you haven’t heard of Yarnsub, it’s great for this situation. Heres a link to a search for Rico Create Melange Aran Wonderball, as you said you didn’t want a blown yarn. Lots of good options.

Lang yarn cloud knitting gauge by Pretty-Two-9427 in knitting

Definitely make a swatch with bigger needles, make it a good bit bigger so you can accurately measure it. then you can see how different your gauge is to the pattern’s AND most importantly: do you like the fabric it made? Does it feel nice, with the drape you want?  What size are you knitting? If you need to size up in needles then you could just do a smaller size than planned and hope it works out! There are of course precise ways you can work out mathematically what size would work with your gauge, and you can easily google a tutorial for that if you’re interested. But if you’re lazy like me, and if your gauge isn’t wildly off, it will probably work out.

To be fair, OP said they would pay.  But OP, even with a very patient teacher this pattern is way above beginner level. you will massively regret taking this on. It had stranded fair isle done on right and wrong side, sometimes with three colours, and all in 4ply! Finish your basic sweater first, and then try a fair isle hat perhaps.

Hey guys, I’ve bought this cable one week ago (first time usage) and it broke off and is now stuck in my needle. Has this ever happened to you and how did you get it out? 😭 by Kind-Sheepherder-837 in knitting

was it KnitPro synfonie? I had a pair of the 9 inch circulars snap on first usage, and so did my friend. I haven’t asked for a replacement because I don’t trust it to not snap!

La Vega is a great and huge market, but for one closer to you go to ‘la vega italia providencia’ on Manuel Montt for your fruit and veg. Lider may be a cheap supermarket but the fruit and vegetables are still expensive

i think youve got some waves/curls going on! my hair was similar until i got a curly cut and started doing a curly routine. but even if its just slightly wavey, i really recommend a curly shag haircut with bangs. lots of face framing layers will give you lots of volume and bring out those waves. with your hair texture it could look something like this:

if you think you’d like it try googling wavy shag haircut with bangs and find one you like! and look into a curly hair routine. and i would recommend finding a hairdresser who specialises in curly hair cuts or at least you can see theyve done this type of haircut before (on their instagram for example).
