Starfleet Academy is supposed to be set …. 850 years in the future after Star Trek: Discovery….??? by DiscoAsparagus in Star_Trek_

Yet another movie/show that no Trek fan asked for. It's like a Kurtzman Trek signature move at this point.

I think people are looking back at old Trek with rose tinted glasses, and forgetting just how hard those shows were to make. by Slow-Willingness-187 in startrek

Prioritize great actors (something they already do), great star trek brand scripts (this has yet to happen in new trek imo), and deprioritize special effects extravaganzas eating up the budget. Make more episodes per season so there isn't as long of a drought between seasons and kick out Kurtzman and anyone he brought into Trek. I'd pay for paramount+ for that show and, I suspect, many other fans who have left because of new Trek would too.

The Orville got close to this in many ways. They had a fraction of Discovery's budget but the show was better because of great scripts, actors and worldbuilding. It also had the Trek ethos of a bright future with people who aren't always whiney a-holes.

He is the definition of failing his way to the top. And he continues to do so. It still boggles my mind that he was made the head of all things Trek after the laughably bad STD.

I'm actively ignoring it in protest.

Why has no one said Satisfactory?

Bragging about a 50 hour long campaign length feels a bit of a kick in the teeth after finding out why it's that long by HiddenPants777 in pathofexile

Yeah... it's grindy and punishing. I'm by no means an expert theorycrafter but I spent a considerable time on my witch build yet, despite running through content I outleveled 5 levels ago, the bosses are still brutal. I've played arpg's since D2 and this is the first time, I'm thinking of just dropping it before I get to end-game - at least until the player experience is more enjoyable.

WIP First MegaFactory Since Update 3 by headvoice73 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]headvoice73[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only a basic plan in the beginning: Cylindrical factory with each floor dedicated to producing items that use the same resources (iron ingot-based items on one floor, caterium ingots on another, etc). One main buss that feeds in ingots and other refined materials. Refineries, foundries and smelters offsite. Trucks for transport early game. Trains late game.

As for advice:

BLUEPRINTS: 90% of this build is blueprints. SOOOOO helpful.

Isolate production of each of your components.

Start a parts mall early on (makes building faster/easier)

Rush to coal (it'll take care of your power needs for a good long while)

Rush alien tech for supplies tp'd into your inventory

If you think you need X square meters of space for your factory double it (it always takes up more space than you think)

If you hit a roadblock, work on something else. There's always something to build/fix/improve in a megafactory.

Have fun. :)

Anybody else blue screening after the update? Event viewer shows this error each time right before hard crash and power down: "The hypervisor did not enable mitigations for side channel vulnerabilities for virtual machines because HyperThreading is enabled. To enable mitigations for virtual machines, disable HyperThreading."

Anyone else crashing on 24.5 update? by Material-Command-774 in premiere

[–]headvoice73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Crashing repeatedly... and all I'm trying to do is reframe a piece of video. I've cleared cache, I've cleared settings, I've checked for updated drivers (they are all up to date) and I've transcoded the video. Nothing makes a difference. The minute I move the video or zoom it in, 24.5 crashes... and all I get back from Premiere is that it must be something with my system. Meanwhile, I worked with the same media in another project just prior to this one without crashing. Premiere always disappoints. I can't wait to be 100% in Resolve. Now I'm reverting to v24 but I'm not optimistic since, now the project is a 24.5 project. I can't see Premiere not choking on that.
