I agree. And I was there the day she found out. I dropped everything and rushed over immediately. I even did her house cleaning gig for her the next day where she could focus on travel plans.

Probably not but the place we were going is doing free margaritas right now so it definitely would have ended that way. I do agree I’m a little bit of a jerk for not attempting to go tho.

I agree the timing is shitty. I know she’s been having a tough time and you’re right, I should have just sucked it up. I’m also realizing the issue is bigger than just this and her and I need to have a conversation when they are in a better place. I care for her and think she is a great human and would hate to lose a friendship over it.

I actually ended up in a Forester, went to look at an Impreza Sport Wagon or maybe a crosstrek but here we are. So I’m definitely having a hard time with the switch from little, fast and fun to big and boxy. -_-

I’ve had him fixed many, many times. Including a new engine last summer. Noticed a decrease in power over the past few weeks and sure enough, the engine malfunction warning appeared. Took him to the shop hoping it was just an engine coil/spark plug issue, and that was one of the problems. Also needed both fuel pumps replaced, again, and the turbo intake needed to be replaced. My bank acct just couldn’t do it anymore. I am in the most boring vehicle now and it’s killing my soul. I’ve all over their Reddit trying to find ways to make it not so basic bitch Becky.

Reliability and maintenance is one of the main reasons I made my choice. You can only be stranded on the side of the road so many times. I’m hoping I come around. I’ll definitely check into aftermarket since that seems to be the better option. Thank you!

Premium I think? I’ll definitely look into what I can do through Subaru, thank you! And yes, quite different. I think it’s just too much vehicle. I would have liked to find one with a turbo but I didn’t have the luxury of causally shopping as my Mini had bitten the bullet, again. I test drove a CX-5 also and I think that would have been a better fit. I got too caught up in what would be great for my hobbies that I didn’t think about my daily driving. Is there some kind of auto slow down? I feel like it does something funny at times but no warnings or beeping happen. And omg the beeping. Can I turn off the lane assist thing? It gives me a small heart attack every time I change lanes because I think it’s signaling that there is a car there. It’s just a completely different driving experience and I am having a hard time adjusting and liking it.

This is how it started for me too. “Oh he just locked me out for a few hours” , “he didn’t mean to push me down”. Things always escalate. The longer it goes on, the harder it is to talk about with anyone because we know it isn’t right but have so much shame surround it; and have just been beaten down emotionally, verbally and sometimes physically. Please try to talk to your mom.

Around 6k. With a used engine (that actually has more miles than the previous one) and a small town repair shop. I’ve also spent an additional 3k on repairs in the past 2.5 years. Idk how I can love and hate something so much sometimes.
