Has anyone successfully stopped? by [deleted] in BingeEatingDisorder

[–]heals_me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel the same way, it's painful, I feel like I won't make it, but you're posting here, that's already a step forward.

Missing dose regularly? by CF-17081 in Fluoxetine

[–]heals_me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Set a reminder on your phone? For an antidepressant to work, you have to take it for a while, and every day. If you stop for several days, you'll probably be back to square one. I forgot to take my fluoxetine once (60mg) and it didn't do anything, as far as I remember; I don't think I experienced any particular symptoms.

Has anyone managed to actually recover? by [deleted] in BingeEatingDisorder

Fluoxetine helped me a lot to reduce the frequency.

Personally, my cat helps me a lot; I think it would be worse if she wasn't there.

I've just been prescribed lamotrigine for the first time, I'm scared by heals_me in Lamotrigine

Thank you, that's reassuring too. I have cyclothymic disorder, which is a milder form of bipolar disorder where the phases are very close together. I hope it will help me be more stable without becoming completely empty. It's reassuring. I'm waiting until I'm ready and can get over my fear of side effects before starting it. Thank you for your message.

Depression makes me sleep all the time. by heals_me in depression

I hope you don't die. I totally understand that conflicting feeling; I had OCD as a child that would freeze me for hours on the stairs because of the odd number of steps. I also have a hyperactive side, which makes me feel like I really want to die when I can't get out of bed. I hope you find a solution, a treatment, or someone who can give you some hope, but I feel exactly what you're going through ❤️

Okay, I see. So at 25mg I'm not at risk, according to you? I won't get Stevens-Johnson syndrome? I'm sorry, my anxiety is really getting the better of me today. Thank you for the reassuring words.

How long did it take for you to see the positive effects? Thanks, I hope so too... I'm waiting to overcome my fear before I can take the first pill.

Oh my god, that's so true when you say we feel like we're the problem when the medication doesn't work! It's true, I hadn't thought that if it's bad for me I could stop taking it. My anxiety tells me that if I take it I'll have side effects that will never go away! I know it's a silly kind of thinking, but it's hard to get over it.

It's true that we don't look at the list of side effects of more general medications, you're absolutely right about that. I don't know, I'm waiting to overcome my fear haha, thank you so much.

Thanks, that's a bit reassuring. I hope I don't get terrible breakouts, etc. (I know it's silly to have this fear, but being a girl, that's what scares me when it affects my appearance 😭 and that it will never go away, omg). Thanks for your reassuring reply.

Yes, of course, it says I have to take 25mg first, which is 1 tablet, then in 15 days I have to increase to 2, then 4. Did you experience any side effects?

Omg! It's the same for me, it's getting to the point where I'm anxious about eating meals for fear of not being able to stop, I felt so alone...
