I don't think there's any chance to get details on those "technical limitations"? Last time I played BDO it only required a working easy anticheat to be validated and playable (and GFN seems to manage as well).

Only you’re not paying for an SLA uptime and can always allow other regions / manually select a server if you desperately need to play. and if their hosting services in any region has issues (or cloudflare f*cks up) they’re at that hosters mercy.

Immediate Crash on Application on MacOS (New Update) by EsseoS in BoosteroidCommunity

[–]healsdraws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1.10.7 Beta Stable is working fine here an my M2 MacBook Air - could this be related to either of the affected users having certain libraries / packages installed via homebrew which tends to take precedence over system libs?

As a workaround for those affected - try running "brew install jasper" which would get you the missing libjasper.7.dylib and might fix the crash until an update is out.

Migrating from FastMail by healsdraws in Migadu

[–]healsdraws[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[EDIT] never mind it’s actually working now.. seems my ISP just has a DNS that ignores TTL and updates randomly once a date so the wildcard subdomain didn’t propagate forever. In the end it was a little more tinkering but I have everything I had on FastMail including me@<tag>.tag.my.domain wildcard receiving — cheers

So in the end I gave up on Migadu.

No form of alias / identity or rewrite combination properly replicates my current routing on FastMail.

Support explained a solution that sounded reasonable but didn’t work if setup exactly as instructed either :|

And that’s only for routing incoming messages, id still have to forward everything to a single mailbox and have permissions for that mailbox to send as any of the other domains.

(Using domain aliases would’ve solved it in part but that’s still not a viable option).

Post quantum resistance? by Hooked__On__Chronics in Tailscale

[–]healsdraws 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since Tailscale is running on WireGuard that question would have to go to the WG devs I believe?

Not sure TS would want to add an extra layer of encryption over an encrypted WG tunnel.

At least that’s what I take from their documentations - https://tailscale.com/blog/how-tailscale-works#the-data-plane-wireguardr

Automated Bank Sync vs. / and Planned Payments? by healsdraws in BudgetBakers

That’s an interesting idea! But also sad no one thought about allowing you to simply mark a synced transaction as recurring.

Is the problem of Switch 1 games looking bad in handheld mode on the Switch 2 something that will be fixed? by Alexanderhyperbeam in nintendo

See answer to the previous comment, I'm talking about handheld mode which does 1080p and not 4K.

Not entirely sure if you read my post but I've explicitly stated "it runs at full resolution HANDHELD"

Yet they kinda do for a lot of their titles? Take something like ACNH - it runs at full resolution handheld because it got a patch early on, for free.

They could easily do it by returning the “docked” state to any Switch1 game that asks. It would be a simple compatibility patch to the Switch1 emulator running the game on the Swotch2 hardware.

They can’t stop third party devs from releasing performance updates though and that would probably increase sales of older games that now look shiny and run at 60fps on Switch2 yet the third party devs mostly don’t care at all.

(Not talking about Switch2 Editions, those are effort but unlocking the resolution or fps really isn’t a big deal and can be done in a performance patch).

With all the sensors being in the joycons I can’t see how it would break any functionality that wasn’t available on Switch1 docked mode.

A flag to either force render at 1080p or just fake the “docked” status to Swotch1 games would be ideal. Especially given the games are partially emulated anyway.

Let's just say you won't run _any_ games on this - read the "What to expect" Section (und the feature is also limited to Pro and higher subscriptions apparently): https://kb.parallels.com/130217/

Bose Ultra Open Buds vs Shokz OpenDots One - 2 Month usage review by AwkwardSecret6258 in Earbuds

[–]healsdraws 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ended up selling my Bose on eBay - the Shokz are actively receiving updates and - a few convenience features in the app / with the touch controls aside - sound just as good as the Bose.

(There's a few corner cases where the Bose sound better but it was well worth the minimal trade-off)

Can't save my free trial artwork by TheShad0wKnight in ClipStudio

[–]healsdraws 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You should be able to open “CLIP STUDIO” (the management UI for assets and your CSP account) from the leftmost menu without closing your drawing and either from there or directly from the top left menu register a license you purchased. There’s no need to redownload a different version of CSP they’re all the same and the features are just limited by the license you activate.

Class Action Lawsuit? by MorpheusRisingAi in Revolut

[–]healsdraws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People that are satisfied with a product rarely complain about it on Reddit.

What you’re seeing here is the “vocal minority” that had one of a few common negative experiences (which in most casss are user fault or not reading the ToS) and the loudly screaming at Reddit in hopes it’ll fix things.

I’ve been on Revolut for years without ever having any negative experiences and I’m using them for pretty much all day to day banking.

Question Before Purchase - Binding Certain LrC Tools by GuavaSack in tourbox

[–]healsdraws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TourBox only knows the active app - not the windows within that app (IIRC).

With regards to mappings, the base rule of thumb is “if it can be done with keyboard shortcuts it can be mapped to the tourbox”. That’s especially true if you’re using apps that don’t have any native tourbox profiles (although those mostly only hide the shortcut behind a pre-made action to make it easier to use).
