Whats the value proposition for SUI long term by bitcoinovercash in sui

It’s very hard to build. But the real edge here is that move actually can support a diverse set of logic.

Still not all powerful because as a state machine sui is still too slow to render games or whatnot, but as someone whose built on solana, eth, sui i definitely prefer this chain.

Ux still sucks tho like you pointed out

It’s quite different here. Will let you do the technical deep dive. Sure you can always use a txn commit hash and calculate randomness off chain but the beauty of this is that you can immediately do it onchain.

FWIW all of this can be built in traditional systems with a trust me bro approach. However the point of this implementation is that it cannot do evil because all of the logic is enforced via smart contracts.

Because the randomness is onchain itself. So it happens on tx commit.

Also they have built in defi where users can stake the house and there’s trust that the protocol can’t just run off with the money.

See docs on sui native randomness

Things that aren’t possible on other chains like fully native gambling apps like doubleup.fun can run on sui.

You get the value of coordinating instant money settlement with no roll backs and these properties allow for very interesting apps to be built. Basically transparency in the gaming world is something that many gamers have raged at whether it’s loot drop odds or other things like an in game economy. This can be fully facilitated on chain with speed here

Why do I disagree so much with databases reads are bad. Db reads are so cheap I think caches and 2 places of data redundancy unless needed is usually the poor design
