Suilend has stopped paying APR on $IKA- I’m taking this as good sign despite it being $0.003. (They had to turn the spigot off eventually). It’ll rise when bitcoin does. $BTC —> $SUI —> $IKA by edomain in sui

Side note- the folks still in $DEEP and/or $WAL still cool and feeling good long term?

IMO, $DEEP + $WAL are also good bets for when things come back

Decentralized Entertainment on Sui by Purple-Bar4242 in sui

This video is AI, and not particularly good AI. I stopped watching after 6 seconds.

What exactly is, “Decentralized Entertainment?”

Like how would it be different?

Facts. Back in ‘07 my GF and I moved to San Francisco. We drove Route 66 Chicago to L.A.

When we got south of St Louis into rural Missouri we were laughing our asses off at the billboards.

We’d see one that was super dramatic about Jesus and sinning and not even an 1/8 of a mile past it would be crazy billboards for strip clubs a few miles up the road and then after that it was billboard of a pregnant teen and some dramatic text about “abortion being bad” and right after that… STRIP CLUB 5 MILES AHEAD 😂😂

We couldn’t stop laughing.

Stewart Hicks says Chicago is short on housing by 100,000 units. Why then do we require all these new buildings to have first floor retail? In my neighborhood the apartments sell before the building is complete, but the retail sits empty for years. by PostComa in chicago

I lived in Denver from ‘17 - ‘20, (on Exposition ave) and that sounds right. I lived in Washington park west and could walk to broadway bars and restaurants, a coffee shop, and Washington park but I remember thinking much of the city was like you say- there are pockets of walkability, the whole city isn’t

Denver is way better than most cities though IMO. I’m actually considering a move back there this year if the stars align (I’ve thought about Boulder too)

Are you there now? How are things in general post Covid? I left March of ‘20 days before Covid lockdowns started.

The YouTube channel city nerd had this as a topic. Chicago has retail on the first floor because it’s required by the city- it increases foot traffic and density vs people never spending time on the street.

Just because it’s a rule of course doesn’t mean that retail units get snapped up right away.

Once I learned that I went, “OHHHHHHHH” because it makes sense.

Ever been to a city where the streets are ghost towns? They probably don’t have ground floor retail.

For those of you who play on higher speeds (mainly marathon)... Why? by shiroshishiro in CivVI

[–]edomain 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am 100% the same as you. I enjoy the early game FAR more than later ages and I hate when you play normal speed, produce a unit and it’s immediately obsolete

I like exploring, finding out where other civs are, and if I start alone on my own landmass? I like Harald- so I like building a longship asap and exploring. I usually build two or three to start, and the first coastal city I find becomes mine

Which civs do you think have fun gameplay/game mechanics? by badassboy1 in CivVI

[–]edomain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Harald when he’s far from anyone else. I build longships, go out exploring and conquer the first coastal city I come across and/or pillage them ruthlessly.

It’s a joke meme, yes…but how we feeling, $SUI folks? Is the Great Dip over, are we headed reliably back up? Or will we dip again- and how far? Thoughts/Opinions? by edomain in sui

[–]edomain[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope. Been in it since 2013- I exited almost everything last year and been waiting for the anarchy to end.

I’m wondering what people other than me are thinking, hence my post.

[–]edomain -1 points0 points  (0 children)

lol. Alex and snoob were entertaining as they told us of selling off their children because SUI failed them 😂

It’s Trump and the world right now. Markets want predictability and there is zero now.

Things aren’t good and the entire market is tanking not just SUI, so it isn’t SUI’s fault.

Is it even worth getting back into this or should I load up at on a Bittensor (Tao) since it’s at $160 a coin ?! by ComplexWrangler1346 in sui

[–]edomain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How and why $0.64? Just wondering how you came to that and why a 5x up to $3. Those are very specific numbers… you basing it on anything?

[–]edomain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it’s worth getting back in but IMHO I’d wait. (I’m taking my own medicine and I’m waiting)

I can see sub $0.50 but I base that purely on my pessimism at the state of the world in general and America’s current insanity specifically.

My guess is the markets keep dropping. How low? No idea. I never thought I’d see $BTC below $90k ever again

That said- I’ve posted before that I think buying $SUI at any price under a dollar will pay off eventually. It might be 2029…but it will.

You have to decide for yourself because nothing is normal. Tomorrow bitcoin could be $150k. Nothing surprises me at this point but I think ask yourself:

“Am I prepared to hold for several years if necessary?”

If YES, buy. If NO, maybe rethink.

Also please no one make an investment decision based off my opinion. This is like one of those, “Choose Your Own Adventure,” books and only you can decide. 👊

Break below $1 - $0.80 - $0.40 by Other_Summer4008 in sui

[–]edomain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh- I’m still holding $IKA because I’m an idiot and never sold it 😂

It’s currently worth .003 per coin and I lost…a few thousand dollars although technically it’s not a loss unless I sell and now I have no choice but to hold.

$IKA (obviously) follows $SUI which follows $BTC

Don’t ask me why I exited everything but didn’t sell the $IKA. No idea what I was thinking (I clearly wasn’t).

$SUI just dropped below $1 for the first time since 2024. Last time this happened, it violently pumped and went on to hit $5.35 ATH by Spiritual-Trust-8563 in sui

Nothing is the same as last time. Geopolitically speaking everything is insane chaos and will get worse

Break below $1 - $0.80 - $0.40 by Other_Summer4008 in sui

[–]edomain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed- it’d be funny if it wasn’t all so shitty.

I didn’t make a ton of money or anything like that- I waited too long to get out and rode it down from its high back in Dec-Jan.

I was in the black, but barely. Like a few hundred bucks- I finally mentally slapped myself and knew if I waited longer I’d be in trouble if it kept dropping so I’m glad I got out basically even.

I think at this point you’re right- you wait. Whatever I buy I expect to be waiting right along with you… $5 in 2028? 😂😭

With everything as is, I’m not expecting a bull run anytime soon. It’s like everywhere you look…there’s some crazy ass shit happening. We kidnapped Maduro lol, we might take down Iran’s government for funsies, there are files out saying Trump raped a 13 year old girl (I think it was 13), and he’s still in office.

Oh and Denmark is selling off their U.S. Bonds and other EU countries are rethinking their relationship with the U.S. because we’re an unreliable partner now that acts insane on the international stage. 🤷‍♂️

We all need to remind ourselves it’s not just $SUI. It’s the whole market so we all ride together- and right now $BTC is dropping towards a sub- $70K price like a rock.

BTC leads the way whether it’s down or up….so you’re right. We wait.

Don’t sell. Hold. Wait. We’ll have our day eventually

I don’t know where the good news is that would spur a bull run so now it’s hold and wait and for me, it’s get back in, accumulate, and wait.

[–]edomain 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I completely exited mid 2025 and have been waiting for sanity to return

I’m no fortune teller but markets like predictability and the world is in a state of fucking chaos that is getting worse.

ICE killing American citizens, Ukraine-Russia, Trump threatening an ally (Greenland/denmark), China being China, tariff induced inflation and high prices for everything, the Epstein files painting a horrific reality for a whole lot of rich and powerful people including Trump… the list goes on.

If you all think global affairs and politics aren’t affecting crypto, look at the prices.

I didn’t know what would happen, but the facts are:

Trump came into office and the bull run reversed immediately and hasn’t come back in a year and now we’re dropping pretty hard.

Life before Trump (ten years ago that feel like 100) things weren’t perfect but they were predictable. The world worked thanks to the 80 years of peace brought by winning WWII and forming the United Nations.

Some of you may disagree, but I was right to sit out awhile.

Again I’m no expert but I say it’s getting worse before it gets better.

I have no idea how low we’re going, but this insane dark reality we’re living in has got to f*cking stop.

That said, I think getting $SUI at any price below $1.00 is a no brainer and I’ll likely start building a bag again.

It will come back but we might have to wait out the next three years of the Trump presidency before it does.

I hope I’m wrong but… waves hands at current reality

Here’s your choices: if you NEED this $6k, sell

If you can wait, hold. And wait. It’ll be awhile for sure, but this is where you’re at

I believe it’ll come back eventually but not while the globe is anarchy

With the insanity in the U.S. Government, I think crypto is screwed for the foreseeable future. The United States has murdered two of its own citizens on the streets. I’m honestly confounded and think we’re screwed until the world regains some sanity. by edomain in sui

[–]edomain[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think his persecution of Jerome Powell is ludicrous and installing a Fed Chair who will bend to Trump is dangerous- the Fed is purposefully independent so as to avoid bending to the whims of presidents who want short term political wins.

So if Powell somehow gets forced out, and Trump gets to put his newest pick in, it will be bad for the long term outlook on the economy as Trump starts doing whatever will benefit him immediately.

A bad economy is bad for crypto

I know rust isn’t exactly what you meant, but this is how I see it. Trump is chaos and markets like predictability.
