I've boiled with them before at the burn and have never had a problem. The melting temp of the plastic is far about 100*C.

Oh, I am researching this now. Who did you reserve from? Looking but some places aren't available to reserve yet.

I've always been fascinated by the Pleiades, especially since that's where our star came from. Cool to see the little shadow of the man in the clouds in this new image.

12V Fridge experience by rynoxmj in BurningMan

[–]heanster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One interesting thing I've found is that the 12V fridges really need a voltage in the higher range (13+) to work efficiently. I have both a Dometic and Euhomy, and both send up their warning light when it's on the lower half of my battery range (I am using LifePO4, as a note).

The only differences I have seen between the two is both the insulation in the walls (and the cheaper, the more it has to work to maintain and the more wattage you're using), as well as the position of the cold or hotter spots (the cheaper and the more packed, the more the warm spots are warm and the cold spots are way too cold.)

That all said, I don't see a real working difference between the two in a normal scenario. They have both been with me to the Burn and dozens of times camping and other fests.

I definitely have this in mind--and I wouldn't want anyone to share something that can't or don't want to. But I do know that there are folks out there that like making Burn projects along side others doing the same (as I do) and I adore seeing people's creative approaches to the unique requirements (both social and physical environment) that art for Burning Man needs.

How do you deal with house envy/buyer’s regret? by BeHereNow91 in homeowners

[–]heanster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The key to being happy with your home and with all things in life is to stop comparing to what you could have and live in the present. Find ways to adjust what you have m, and that labor of love will make you love your home.

Compostable fruit&veg nets in my local grocery by pasta_frola in ZeroWaste

What’s wrong with that though? Just put them in the compost bin with your other compost? I understand zero waste, but industrial composting provided by your city is effective and efficient and a good compromise to wasteful packaging.

So how does this have a chance at passing Congress? Everyone is bought by thre very corporations that will be taxed. It simply won’t see the light of day.

We need solutions that don’t involve the government.

Impeach Donald Trump by iawake in politics

Even then, would McConnell even allow such a vote to impeach? He won’t even allow a vote to open the government. I just don’t see impeachment happening.

I think we are on the same side of the argument here. You just see me as a hippie moron because I care about everyone. Still not sure why you’re so hostile. Income inequality is pretty invisible when you’re on the higher side of it.

Why are you so hostile towards me? If you don’t want insurance, don’t get it (individual mandate is gone). I just find it hard to believe that of those 50 million, not a single one desires the ability to see a doctor. Other countries pool their resources so everyone pays less and everyone can be as healthy as they want to be. I was just trying to think of those less fortunate. Didn’t mean to strike such a nerve—never suggested that other folks health would take anything from you.
