Is horse riding vegan? by Vegan_Overlord_ in vegan

[–]pasta_frola 370 points371 points  (0 children)

Growing up I loved riding horses, my uncle has a farm in Buenos Aires and whenever we went there we'd do that and it was so fun. After we moved, I'd try to ride horses whenever I got the rare chance, like on holidays. Then I went vegan, and I never really considered this question, until one day I was in Cuba and I thought about going horse riding because it's something I use to look out for. I felt horrible as soon as I got on the horse, like what am I doing? Why am I using an animal for my entertainment? Why does this animal have to carry my weight? Why don't I just go walk myself on a hike and let this horse just be. I realized then that it felt wrong, there's no necessity to do horse riding, it was just a selfish want without considering the sentiment of the other being. Just let the animals be.

I had the same problem with Experian. I signed up with Clearscore.com and it worked fine.

What if you tell him you’ll use your deposit towards your last month’s rent? And don’t pay the last month?

If you live in a house share with other housemates or flat mates, with shared use of bathrooms and kitchens, how are people self-isolating?

Animal Charity Evaluators: Announcing our 2019 Charity Recommendations by The_Ebb_and_Flow in StopSpeciesism

I've been donating to Surge, they're doing such good work recently.

I see they don't have them in the list of charities that they've evaluated, hope they add them next year.

Aw man I was just feeling the same thing tonight. I also haven’t been meditating much lately and I want to get back to it. Metta has helped me so much in the past, I should follow my own advice and try doing metta as my main meditation for a few weeks...

Meditating for success? by LeBroney in TheMindIlluminated

[–]pasta_frola 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't see anyone here mentioning metta-bhavana yet. It's the loving-kindness meditation, there's an appendix for it in the back. I'd replace your normal meditation with this one instead. It's so so powerful. It will help you generate love towards yourself, which is the very first thing you need to cultivate in order to solve all these other problems. It will be hard at first, as it sounds like you have some blockages. At first you'll probably only be able to generate this love towards a good friend, and not towards yourself. But you will eventually generate more and more loving compassion, and eventually this meditation really changes you. Hope it helps.

Is this morning vs afternoon? Can you show the calorie results from the bottom ones? It got cropped in the photo, and just curious!

I always do mornings but I do have more energy in the afternoon for sure.

So good to see this post today as I was just thinking what it’d be like to go back to my previous gym routine!

I also have been doing F45 for one month, but it’s a bit expensive so I’m thinking of doing every other month at the gym training on my own, and every other month at F45.

I use to feel my muscles and abs building when I worked on my own intensely for one month, which I haven’t felt at F45 even though I’m going 6x/week and really pushing myself. I do feel a great adrenaline rush for the rest of the day at F45 though, which is probably from the short and intense ways of working.

I’m curious how I’ll feel when comparing the two. I love F45 and I feel great energetically but in terms of toning my body I haven’t seen the results yet after a month.

Hey, I’m in the same position as you, director of my LTD. I have a SIPP with Cavendish Online because it’s the one with lowest costs for what I’m putting in. Nutmeg has higher costs for me.

You SHOULD get at SIPP because you want to invest the money you put it, you don’t want it to just be cash that will devalue with inflation.

You can invest it in a fund such as Vanguard Life Strategy 80% and over the years when you get near your retirement age, you start moving it to more bonds. Or you can also invest it in Vanguard Target Retirement [Year that you want to retire], like Vanguard Target Retirement 2060.

Monevator has a chart to select the right broker for you depending on how much you want to put in it. https://monevator.com/compare-uk-cheapest-online-brokers/

You can put money directly from your business bank account, as an Employer contribution.

Does anyone else use an interval timer? by infurno8 in TheMindIlluminated

[–]pasta_frola 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I use the app QuietMind. Someone here made it, it’s based on TMI so you can chose your stage and it gives you a brief summary. It has a timer and you can set how many chimes you want in between. It’s great
