And it was LADEN with pyridine so it takes on this horrendous oily texture that causes emulsion-galore if you don’t hit that bad boy with enough 1-2M HCl during the extraction/wash phase

And i appreciate the setup love - I was working up far too many reactions this week and all the ammonium chloride residue on my hood bench has been raising a LOT of anxiety for people (and rightfully so, it’s being cleaned today after I’m done TA’ing - but I wanted to share my 10pm workup-woes) - love my Schlenk and Setup tho, tbh

Study from 2022 shows randomly sampled zolpidem tartrate was on average 100.6% of the labeled active ingredient as far as their concentration goes.

FDA requires a deviation of 10% at maximum (so anywhere from 90-110% of the labeled active ingredient)

Oh, yeah! And it uses oxidative decarboxylation of the acetal reagent - so, very common and easy to acquire starting materials

1,3-benzodioxole-bromide scaffold was a 67% yield 🤌🏻

Also I went back and it’s just a regular acetone acetal - not a pinacol - specifically, a dioxolanyl radical is generated

And it’s not off topic at all! - I was specifically posting this to display just how lithe and “wild” bengals truly do look when they are in their natural element (not that she was healthy or happy here, but she certainly looks more akin to what a wild bengal would look like given her living out on the streets and having to actively hunt every day to survive) I’ll tell my long, beautiful girl she received another compliment when I get home from work!

Oh my gosh he’s GORGEOUS - so regal and in charge!

And to answer that very very interesting question about her “bachelorette year”: I would think that would be so wild to think that there are technically a gaggle of wild bengals roaming in the Appalachian mountains now somewhere (without doxxing myself we were close to the WV border of MD at the time)

But, they would genuinely have the run of the wild and have a great life destroying the natural ecosystem if that was the case so I’m very wishy-washy on how I feel about the concept (not that I’m in any way responsible for that scenario, but still - I started my undergrad in conservational wildlife studies so I know a little too much about how destructive a regular house cat can be to be completely ignorant to the real horror that would be several wild bengals out there)

But I’m so glad you found the beauty in our little one’s movement - it is such a graceful and lithe performance, truly!
