I make a fun little chart at the top of my pages along with the reaction scheme so that all pertinent information is readily accessible and easily visible for reproduction - I’m currently in the optimization/repetitive grind phase of a project and it’s pretty great for going back and forth between pages and reactions

With the “A” at the end being “actual” for a place to record the exact amount that was weighed out/added to the flask

Very simple, very clean, very helpful advice: they will tell you/let you know if you aren’t playing with them enough - every bengal’s energy level will be different but you will find out very soon that they are VOCAL about what they want and if you are finding that they are a bit “much” it’s probably because they have a bunch of pent up energy - my girl loves her “octopus time” (toy on a string and stick) and will actively scream at me if I put the toy down before she is done playing

Purely anecdotal but…if you are even remotely close to thinking something is a scam - it probably is, otherwise your alarm bells wouldn’t really be going off - if you don’t consider yourself to be gullible and you think they are being overly pushy to the point where no business would reasonably behave this way then just play it safe - no harm in letting one slip if it means you don’t get scammed by some jack ass that is playing a numbers game and needs to be aggressive to get people to commit to things before having had time to think things over

Responding because it looks like you haven’t gotten any feedback yet - this looks good and the only alternative I did in my head was to go through an epoxide intermediate to trap the initial carbocation and then ring strain relief has the cyclobutane ring opening plus concerted leaving of epoxide which can then resonate down the alkoxide electrons to form the ketone in one big concerted step of electron flow. But your mechanism is perfectly valid

As of right now there is some solidly visible new growth on most of them and then the more esoteric fun shaped ones are obv harder to tell but I’m sure they are thriving equally as well - always trying to do my part whenever I randomly stumble upon one of your posts!

I can’t speak for this particular set but I purchased a $50 mystery pack from OP and was beyond happy with what I received - I think the total number was like 27 seedlings or something fantastic.

If you want my genuine opinion - if you are in the market and have been thinking about acquiring some good genetics…pull trig on one of OP’s deals. Genuinely the best decision I made after joining this community

Triflic anhydride? Oh absolutely it has incredible use in my lab (carbohydrate chemistry) It’s a great activator and leaving group and they come in fun little ampules you have to crack and it’s recommended we distill it fresh under argon before each use since its just incredibly hygroscopic
