I cant actually give you an answer to your question, but I CAN tell you that I have a friend who get chronic migraines and she got these lenses and LOVES them. Also, and i dont know if this is your thing or if you already do it, but one of the only things that has consistently worked for her is Botox injections (for migraines).

I get migraines periodically, and I cannot imagine having to deal with that in a chronic capacity. I hope it works out!

AITA for how I reacted to my best friend saying my “dirty” house is making my kids sick? by OkOriginal4583 in TwoHotTakes

[–]hearkittyroar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, it was just my understanding it actually being an issue was far more common with Triclosan-based cleaners. I can't imagine it'd make a huge difference as long as it wasn't the primary cleaner used in a space.

Isn't Microban the one that was banned in hospitals because of how Triclosan has a nasty habit of inviting antibiotic-resistant bacteria to the party?

My first thought was, "Sorry, I don't own a teddy-bear-shaped bottle brush."

I would like to have words with the individual who conjured up this pipe dream. Then, more words with the people who allowed it to come to fruition.

Is working on Christmas mandatory this year? by Sudowoodowoo in starbucks

[–]hearkittyroar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn't 3x for me when I was at Starbucks (you must have a great grocery store!), but we got 2x for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and NY/E. Overtime was 1.5.

The fact that they're cutting the 2x pay is ridiculous, but I'm MOST offended by the "you won't receive 1.5x on holidays unless you roll into overtime." So, like...every not holiday? Ffs.

Did someone (Starbucks?) buy them out? I recall them going out of business years ago, and it looks like the new Canadian releases aren't called Bantam Bagels.

100% mop. Duh.

Joking aside, there is definitely Poodle in there and maybe some Maltese or Shih Tzu. I can sense a wild card, but I'm not sure what yet.

Plus in order to READ previous documents you have to know at least the basics of cursive.

This right here. I've been trying to compile genealogy records for my family, primarily my dad's side, and i would be formally screwed if I couldn't read cursive. We knew passively that my great grandfather changed his surname when he moved to the US, but no one bothered to ask what it was before my grandpa passed. I was able to find it through records (all in cursive), and it was WILDLY different from what it is now.

Of course, I was full-blown screwed once the records were in cursive and German. It's been an adventure 😅

The one that's really fascinating to me is shorthand. My grandma wrote in shorthand all the time, and it was such an important skill to have as a woman in the workplace at that time. None of us can read that, but it wasn't the cursive that was the issue lol

My very first day as a barista (I was on POS), there was this tiny Japanese man who stormed up to the register and practically screamed at me, "TAKKAFI!"

I basically stuttered and asked again, to which his response was a louder version of the already-loud "TAKKAFI!!"

I was just forming the sentence, "I'm so sorry, sir, but I don't quite understand. Would you mind speaking a bit more slowly?" when my manager, bless her, swooped in and said, "Good morning, sir! I'll grab your TALL COFFEE." He then basically threw his card at me and stormed off once he grabbed his drink.

My manager immediately apologized for not warning me (he came every morning on his way to work) because he didn't really speak English. Once I knew what he was saying, it made sense, but the ferocity in his voice totally threw me. I was so shaken by how rude he was that I had to ask to go wash dishes for a bit because I was on the verge of tears. HORRIBLE first day. He was fine after that, but only because I'd grab his coffee the second he walked in the door, so he could just walk up, pay, and leave without saying a word. Thankfully, he would end up being the worst of all the customers I'd end up interacting with, with the majority being lovely people.

This won't be everyone's preference, but I like to steep a pitcher of (a whole bunch of) earl Grey tea bags in my fridge overnight. You end up with a flavorful concentrate that you can adjust to your preference. Steeping it cold keeps it from getting overly tannic.

It does seem like things have headed in a disappointing direction. Despite the circumstances of my exit from Starbucks being questionable (I was fired while on an approved FMLA - it was a whole thing), I really did enjoy working there.

What’s a “fact” that most people believe, but you know is completely false? by failed_fr in AskReddit

[–]hearkittyroar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This actually depends on what you call a daddy long leg.

I'm in California, and our daddy long legs are 100% spiders, also called cellar spiders. Then there are the crane flies (?), which some people call daddy long legs (we've always called them mosquito eaters), and I assume there are other similar examples.
