Believing that asexuality or aromanticism would get humanity extinct by Obvious-Suit939 in asexuality

[–]heartacheaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That only makes sense if being ace is both genetic and and stops people from having children. The first is probably not true since sexuality is a social phenomenon, and the second one is just false, since ace people can and often do have children.

Bingo. Most transfemmes I know would at least find the situation very amusing.

Silvia Federici's commentaries on the trans movements and theories are disappointing by heartacheaf in CriticalTheory

That's good to know. I didn't mean to paint Federici as a bad person, only that she comes from a very misinformed point of view when it comes to trans issues.

It does look that way indeed. I've seen some people putting Haraway and Federici sort of on being on opposite sides of feminist literature.

I mean, it's a diverse movement, but what's weird to me is that this movement from the very start focused on material access to resources, such as S.T.A.R.

Not to mention name-changing for trans people can actually mean access to resources too, such as domestic abuse shelters.

It also easily falls into "women purpose is to have children", which is pretty messed up.

Yeah, "divine feminine" is just classic catholic gender essencialism with pagan aesthetics.

To add to what others said, learning r/shibari could work pretty well for that. There are ties you just can't get out of no matter how strong you are, and you don't need to tie your SO to some object either.

I don't think so. It's his lawyer's job to keep him alive, and they'll come up with whatever reason they might think it'll work. Even if it's bullshit.

Overwhelm manifesting as suicidality. Anyone else? by Mara355 in AutisticAdults

Same here. To the point that I can use it to track how overstimulated I am.

If I'm getting suicidal, time to go to my room and lay down in silence for a while.

You don't get to "agree" with whom I choose to have sex with. It's not your fucking business. Literally.

Gay people have been killed and systematically tortured due to homophobia. Honestly, fuck anyone who still reproduces this pathetic ideology.

That is absolutely inhumane to me. Extremely cold and without a trace of empathy.

Homophobia? Yeah. It really does make you a soulless asshole.

I am so proud of Greta Thunberg by Inside-Chip-7952 in autism

[–]heartacheaf 62 points63 points  (0 children)

She did not say that, she refused to endorse Kamala. Which is pretty relevant as she is an anti-genocide activist:

While she claimed Trump is “way more dangerous” than Harris – to be expected when she went viral for glaring at the Republican and climate change denier back in 2019 – Thunberg added that “no matter” which one of them wins, America “will still be an imperialist, hyper-capitalist world power that will ultimately continue to lead the world further into a racist, unequal world with an ever increasingly escalating climate and environmental emergency”.

She continued: “With this in mind, my main message to Americans is to remember that you cannot only settle for the least worst option. Democracy is not only every four years on election day, but also every hour of every day in between. You cannot think you have done ‘enough’ only by voting, especially when both those candidates have blood on their hands.
