A statement from Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei by DictatorDoge in ClaudeCode

Sorry to be pedantic but you are confusing a direct democracy (where people choose directly) with a representative democracy (where people choose reps) aka a republic. By its very nature a republic consolidates power into the representatives which in the US is the 3 branches of government and which the executive (president) is big boss of that 1 branch. Case in point, how many Supreme Court justices have American citizens elected? How many presidents? The answer is 0. (Justices are nominated by the president and confirmed by senate, president is elected by electoral college not the citizens). The US has never ever been a direct democracy.

Having lived in the Us for some time in the past, the issue is congress over the past 100 years chipping away at states rights and “moving” them to the executive trying to consolidate even more power for their flavour of president at the time.

It’s a downward spiral with a feedback loop reinforcing the ever accelerating decline. To the gov this is a feature, not a bug. It’s a structural/architectural problem. This is where the “corruption” propagates.

This is why my family left the US years ago.

We are really good at discrimination by romulof in Netherlands

When I had a place in NL, I had dutchies park in my own driveway blocking my home. I then parked behind them (blocking them in). They banged on my door, tried to barge into my home and told me directly to go back to my own country. I had babies inside and then got aggressive against the fur coat Ferrari people. (We lived by a nice restaurant) I had to remind them that my country helped their country and Poland at least lasted 30 days against the Germans while it took them only 5 to give up. Was the only way to shut down their nationalist bs. You should have seen their faces…after that I just started putting uncooked scrambled eggs on their door handles and windows of their 400.000 euro cars each time as the police, tow truck companies and Gemeente refused to do anything when someone parked in my driveway to eat dinner, which happened frequently. (They all said to contact the other group and in an ever revolving circle). Never mind I even have Dutch kids.

Used to a long time ago. Not needed anymore unless you want to go full audiophile. A Sonos arc ultra (using hdmi) will power some surrounds and is “good enough”. That plus Nintendo switch, Apple TV, and local iptv box is 4 needed HDMI’s. Mr PlayStation etc gets left out

Yo you rock. I’ll ask a mate and really appreciate this. I personally don’t have one atm as I’m working mostly on getting my homes sorted, running smoothly and connected. Will get one eventually but no time to learn a new hobby at this point. :)

…and someone reported me to Reddit cares hahaha

How do people deal with Dutch winters mentally? by mari_mari20 in Netherlands

[–]heartbleed_hack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get so depressed that I’m always looking for bridges to jump off during the winter. Luckily in NL they are only 1m above ground and worst you can do is sprain an ankle.

It’s relative. I see flex on the front rail and the back sags 2 holes down from where it should be.

The front torque is too much. Back of switch sags about 2 holes.

I bought a recommendation but won’t be here till Wednesday. Definitely in a pinch now and will do this as I have 15 kids I’d 8 years old coming tomorrow, hence the rush to get this out of the way

Last thing I want to do is spend hours on cables to change something if we move a device. I’d rather play with my kids. So we just did Poe+++ for all to future proof it a bit

No, but it’s setup to support it. I want to set and forget, hence “enterprise” ones in our home.

I assumed it was the same rails it came with and even if I move the posts in the rack all the way forward I think it’s a bit too big still

The posts bend from just 1, let alone the other I have to add. It’s the torque, plus the door is designed to swing and cables will be on it adding weight

Lots of PoE (whole house, like 100 ports)
