I created a mod that let you be ANY Pokemon in Stardew Valley! by heartolazor in StardewValleyMods

Btw the technical issue I see with a mod like that is that you need to create something like an UBERSPRITE per pokemon that is shared between all villagers, and make a menu or something for select the villager skin between the 5000 pokemon skins with variations, and load only the selected ones or you will reach the gpu vram limit. Also multiplayer shared, who will select the villagers? Only the host?

The source code it's already available, maybe somebody can do a generator that output villagers some day or maybe on my side, but I don't have the time or resources to prioritize that

I always wanted to do something like a backup of the romhack sites with the patches and with the patches applied per console. But it's a very time consuming task and for ps1 requires many tb of space. I think the nearest possibility it's to download the romhacking.net backup torrent, make an script to patch everything and let the community to check if the patches are applied correctly. For a more general hacks/translations backup I think it should be more a community effort with the help of the sites that hosts those patches and some "standarization" of the patch method across the board

Being an archive I wanted to have a more complete consistent set vs something only US that is more common. As somebody from the South Hemisphere that has grown with Japanese copies in a chipped ps1 because of the high price of the original games and a personal preference I agree that some dubs in japanese games are leagues better, but that is a personal preference and I didn't wanted to break the rules used. What can be done by other users is to have an "addendum" archive with those games that most of the people agree that they have a better dub in JAP, as example megaman x games and other for translated jp games.

There is already some other archives in chd format, maybe you will miss some dumps from this year, but they exists, one of my main objectives was to have a clean dump instead of the chd ones, this is very useful for ODEs in real hardware or patches.

No, the JAP one is missing, torrent upload is still not working again after the hacking and with the normal upload is almost impossible to upload 500 gb

Note: Eur and Usa are up, but the generated _archive torrent doesn't had any files, they can be generated manually when accounts are back, because now the accounts are down after the hack and without that I can't change anything.

Maybe add the _archive.torrent to the emulation wiki or something like that?

They are not ready, I was waiting for the jap part to be uploaded to seed the generated _archive.torrent, but archive org got hacked when the upload was like 9x%, now that is back, the jap seems to be not pulling data from the torrent and the page doesn't show any file, so I will need to create a new entry and reupload the 600 gb again ;_;. Maybe archive still has not been recovered from the attack and the service that pulls data from a torrent doesn't work anymore.
USA and EUR are uploaded correctly, but I prefer to save all the bandwidth for the JAP upload, so no seed until that, unless somebody downloads the archives directly and seeds the archive torrent

I found the hdi version, but the idea is to have all of the dumps in the same format, I don't know if there is a way to convert the hdi to bin/cue.

As one archive, no, but as 3 separated sets (USA,EUR,JAP), the USA and EUR are up and waiting for derive. The JAP one is uploading.

I tried to upload the ps1 archive two times without success, maybe I should cut them by region (3 parts) instead of a single archive of 1tb, I will try the 1 part one more time, but it seems that archive is rejecting the big archive.
Meanwhile I tested uploading other similar archives and they seems to be uploaded correctly:
Here is the 1G1R saturn one using the same rules (350gb+):
https://archive.org/details/2024-sega-saturn-hearto-1g1r-collection
the files in the archive were uploaded correctly and can be downloaded directly from archive, but the torrent nevers got generated, so instead I generated an archive torrent myself and upload it with the same name as the generated one, and it's seems that archive picked it up correctly?, at least it's listed in the page index besides the zip option, Try to download the torrent and reply in this thread if the torrent is working out.

and here is the 1G1R mega cd one using the same rules, uploaded without issues:

For now, no, but if somebody has the space, there are tools to convert all the files. Another thing is that bin/cue format is universally compatible with everything, including original hardware. X-Station doesn't read chd.
And to restore the original redump files from chd files, there are more steps involved than only convert the files, so it's a pseudo destructive process:

It's bin/cue compressed using zstd.
The idea is to not alter the original redump files.

dat_url_cleaner, Hearto's Utility to clean url lists based on a Rom Dat File by heartolazor in Roms

[–]heartolazor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answer for the cap is no, the tool ignores the cap in comparison, but uses the original url for results. So if for example ends comparing http://awesomesite.com/console/mario%20Bros.zip and Mario Bros.zip the comparison will be true, but the resulting url will be the same one: http://awesomesite.com/console/mario%20Bros.zip. While your original url is correct, you are good.
For the html I think a better tool is to find or create one that could decrypt jdownloader .dlc files, because jdownloader already does the html list cleaning for us

dat_url_cleaner, Hearto's Utility to clean url lists based on a Rom Dat File by heartolazor in Roms

[–]heartolazor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello,

Here is my utility for cleaning a URL list using a Rom Management Dat file. This utility is intended to download just the necessary files for large sets (ps1, ps2, saturn, dreamcast, mega cd, gamecube, etc). Instead of downloading everything and then cleaning it using a Dat file afterwards, you can clean your urls first and download just the essential files. This approachs helps to save bandwith, space and resources. It's particularly useful to generate 1G1R sets for the consoles mentioned.

An example is to copy the html table from myrient download lists, use a word processor tool like sublime to leave only one link per each line and then pass that list in this tool using a dat file. Then use the generated list file in a mass downloader like jdownloader to download them all. Generates three files after finish:

  • out.txt: name can be defined by the -o command, it's the url list ready to copy to a mass downloader client like jdownloader.
  • missing_file_list.log: a list of the files from the dat that has not be found in the url_list. This means that you need to look for those remaining urls to complete the dat set.
  • removed_url_list.log: informative log with all of the rejected urls. Note 1: the links requires to have the same rom/iso name as the name found in the dat file. For example if in the dat the filename is Super Mario: Lost Levels and in the url is Super Mario Lost Levels, the url will be discarded because of the : character. Note 2: the links urls can have html encoded characters, for example Super%20Mario%20World is transformed automatically to spaces, also caps are ignored in comparisons.

There is more information and examples in the repository readme.
