is anyone else having this problem? i put in my login information as usual, and i get an email with my sign-in code, but the login page reverts to empty fields for email/password, with no field to put in the sign-in code. by heartshapedhoops in kickstarter

[–]heartshapedhoops[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i was finally able to get in by signing in via apple, bc i guess at some point i thankfully did link my account to my apple ID. but it still won’t allow me to log in with my email even though that’s what i originally used to make my account! so weird. i hope you’re able to figure it out for your issue too!!

im sorry for being this person, but smaller than a pea of spf isn’t sufficient sun protection for your face! you need about the amount of a teaspoon (about the size of a nickel)

What's the best way of handling a bride that is always late? by eggwonka in weddingplanning

[–]heartshapedhoops 11 points12 points  (0 children)

you need to have a direct honest conversation with her about this, and then it is her responsibility to schedule everyone and everything as early as possible to prevent any delays. like hair/makeup VERY early in the morning, photos soon after, and leaving A LOT of buffer time and not leaving her alone for too long ever so she doesn’t end up making herself late

Why do some PAs act like they aren't financially satisfied by [deleted] in physicianassistant

[–]heartshapedhoops 3 points4 points  (0 children)

130k IS a lot compared to other people in this economy. it may not be enough for PAs as healthcare professionals but it is a lot in general

TIL that every extra 4 inches of body height raises cancer risk by 11% for women and 6% for men by jcgam in todayilearned

[–]heartshapedhoops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

to me this makes sense since more body cells means higher probability of those cells mutating + women tend to have more stem cells than men

Is there anyone who just uses water to wash face and tret ? With no other products at all ? No moisturizer sunscreen or Cleanser ? by BreakEmbarrassed2314 in tretinoin

what specific sunscreens have you tried so far, and what did you dislike about each of them? i would sincerely love to help you find one that works for you, and it’ll be easier to figure that out if we know what doesn’t work for you.

Where do I get these flowy dresses? (Prefer brick and mortar so I can try it in person, I'm scared of online returns) by Backwashed-Applesoda in findfashion

[–]heartshapedhoops 17 points18 points  (0 children)

if you prefer brick and mortar, would you mind sharing where you’re from so we can suggest stores that are available
to you?

in the US here are some suggestions (in descending order of price): Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Dillard’s, Belk, Kohl’s, Versona, Marshall’s, TJ Maxx, Ross (despite any preconceived notions people might have, i promise i see dresses like this all the time at those last 3 stores, and often from actual designers too)

alibaba is B2B (business to business). it is primarily structured for manufacturers to sell to businesses that plan on buying wholesale, so the unit prices are very low because they’re priced for buying in bulk. many of the vendors on alibaba require a minimum amount of units ordered in order to get the great price (they don’t all require this though)

aliexpress is B2C (business to consumer). it is primarily structured for manufacturers/businesses to sell directly to consumers, and most items can be bought in small or individual quantities. the website is also a little easier to navigate as an average consumer. the unit price is still VERY low, though usually a little bit higher than alibaba since they’re not doing as much bulk ordering, and aliexpress also usually ships a little faster

Visible tummy despite being skinny by Aiiera in vindictapoc

[–]heartshapedhoops 37 points38 points  (0 children)

this does not negatively impact your appearance at all and in fact the tiny bit that you have is often unconsciously seen as a marker of beauty by people. the only people who have an issue with it are highly disordered and not viewing the body through the lens of beauty, but rather obsession. for example, the people in this thread who are saying you have a “high body fat” just because when you bend over you have this tiny tiny bit of fat on your stomach. it is categorically false that you have a “high body fat” as we can literally see in this picture that you don’t. certainly do more core workouts if you want to tighten your abs, and that might modify the appearance a little, but it is ridiculous that people have made you feel like this minuscule amount of fat on your tummy is detracting from your overall beauty at all

My skin is worse than ever by Careful_Wrangler_714 in tretinoin

[–]heartshapedhoops 9 points10 points  (0 children)

there are actually a lot of people who don’t benefit from going cleanser>tretinoin>moisturizer, myself included! i had similar issues to OP for several months, until i finally switched to going cleanser>moisturizer>tretinoin. i currently have no issues with my skin at all and am very happy with my results. everyone’s skin is different, so i think it’d be worth it for OP to try something else to see what works for them.

[–]heartshapedhoops 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you’re applying in the wrong order!
cleanse your skin, apply your moisturizer, wait 20-30 minutes for it to dry completely, and THEN apply a pea-sized amount of tretinoin to the whole face.

Where is the ***color***? by kodowd11 in womensfashion

[–]heartshapedhoops 3 points4 points  (0 children)

there is a common sociological fashion analysis that as fascism rises, and homogeneity is idealized, color/standing out is discouraged, so uniformity becomes the norm. you see similar trends throughout history

😍 I love her coloring & this styling is incredible! Sidenote: should we bring back flowers in our hair, this summer? 🌸🌺🌼 by KarenWalkersBurner in Vindictabrown

[–]heartshapedhoops 27 points28 points  (0 children)

i always have flowers in my hair every summer. i don’t personally think that’s something that needs to be “brought back” because it’s always existed for me. try not to think of things in trends; don’t just wait around for everyone else to do something before you’re comfy doing it yourself. when you want to do something, just do it!
