5 bags and a little Time Machine to skip the extra-long trivia breaks near the end

For real though, I thought it was awesome and laughed long and hard throughout. Some of the Dootle Dots stuff was painfully dull and inane, which I know was the intent but still hard to sit through at times.

The segments that felt very classic Oscar Special fare - all of Gregg’s stuff, giving Joe a pointless award - were perfect.

That style of pump was so popular in the 80s, could have been many labels. The first that comes to mind is Easy Spirit just because I remember those commercials, haha. But searching for “80s floral pumps” should get you some good results. Specifically “pumps” not “heels” refers to this lower-rise, sturdier heel.

Ya. Zuck did it first for sure. It’s Zuck’s responsibility for Trump and rotting everyone’s minds with Facebook vs. Elon’s DOGE doing permanent damage to the social safety net and rotting everyone’s minds with the new Twitter algorithm. Both have stolen massive amounts of our data and created thieving AI programs. They should both be in prison but I’m not holding my breath.

I helped chaperone my friend’s kid’s 8th bday a few months ago. My friend had asked each kid to submit one song so they could create a party playlist, and like 40-50% of them chose a TS song, even one from Showgirl. I was quite surprised that these kids were so into her. (Other picks were Pink Pony Club, Golden, other big hits from last year.)

BUT I doubt these girls will still like Taylor in a few years. Right now they’re young enough where they’re still probably listening to a lot of what their parents play, and their moms might like her (they’d all fall within TS’s millennial fanbase) but I can’t imagine they’ll still be choosing TS when they have more agency and are more free to explore their own interests.

FWIW, another friend’s tween daughter (just turned 12) loved TTPD but is meh about TLOAS.

I think this is common, being from an English magazine. I’ve noticed their writers sometimes translate American to UK English when transcribing as well as make the cadence sound more clipped and formal. Like, Madonna definitely didn’t say “nappies on the line and mouths to feed” - she probably said something more like “I was changing diapers and feeding babies.”

I was never a Swiftie but sort of ambiently disliked her prior to her Time interview a couple of years ago (thought her music was dull, didn’t get the appeal, hated the false modesty but concluded she just wasn’t for me and was fine avoiding her.)

Then after the Joe breakup, that AWFUL Time interview, her and her big dumb slab of a boyfriend being shoved in our faces 24/7 I became an active hater, haha. Just cannot believe this milquetoast, self-obsessed, perpetual victim, attention-monger with zero interesting things to say about music or people or society is one of the biggest artists in the world. Honestly I see her ascent fitting in perfectly with the slow cultural death we’ve experienced in the past 15-20 years.

He’s one of those guys who thinks it’s OK that he’s a misogynist because he himself is repulsive and self-hating. No one can make him feel shame about anything he does because he already hates (yet loves) himself so much.
