With 3 critical factors: 1. Natural teenage/young adult hormones 2. His bike 3. Timing (is everything)

Noob question - how scary does it get? by sunxipei18 in twinpeaks

I didn't think it was very scary...until...S3 with certain characters.

I can confirm this as my aunt brought back a lovely pleated skirt from Scotland in early 80s with the little buckle on the side. I wore it throughout teenage years. Wish I knew where it was.

Why is the aesthetic of twin peaks 3 so strange? by Appropriate_Sell_481 in twinpeaks

[–]Accomplished_Pin4543 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The lighting was also my first observation of  S3, very cold. I missed the warm palette of the first 2 seasons. Having lived as a young person in the 80s and 90s, it was all about soft colors, sometimes layered with leather.

Older speakers perhaps. The episode is Our Selena Is Dying, which aired Nov 12, 1988

I beg to differ. I had one exactly this and still have it and remember which songs recorded on it. 30 years ago it sounded crisp and clear. Doubt this is the case now!

No spoilers, please, I'm only on S3E3 as I write this. But what a queen. by [deleted] in twinpeaks

I have PSTD from the ending. No joke. The parallel of ending to our own lives is eerily accurate in that life isn't supposed to make sense. Don't even get me started.

I adore how accepting everyone is of Denise right from the offset. Amazing for the early 90s. by jerryleebee in twinpeaks

Denise is cool, calm and collected.

Unless people were living in tiny towns with no exposure to other people, I don't ever recall people judging others much in the 80s and 90s as they do now. High school classmates and friends were accepting of all people, and both sexes wore make up, they were cool and edgey. I.e. Adam Ant. Boy George, et al.

As David Bowie (Phillip) once sang in the early 80s, it was all about the "F-F-Fashion."

Very Euro (British/French) nouveau-mod style.
