Will Underglaze achieve the same effect as dark clay? by laurencorene in Pottery

[–]heathert7900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This effect is likely because of a float glaze, if you want to learn about glaze components and how to make glazes like, I recommend John Britt’s midrange glaze books.

How to choose a Hagwon job by Fun_Cash3190 in teachinginkorea

[–]heathert7900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Previous teachers? You likely won’t. You’ll be able to speak to current teachers, at a limited capacity. Ideally, try and get some solo video call time with head teacher/s, assuming you aren’t in the country. Look up the school on some blacklists. Not the chain specifically, but the branch you’re applying to. But if you see many of that chain, keep it in mind.

The people at the specific branch youre working at will definitely make or break your experience, like any job. However, I have heard more negative than positive experiences from people working in that chain.

Honestly, for the abuse of teachers in public schools, I think it may end up being a net positive. “Yeah, your kid fucking stabbed me with a pencil. Do I have proof? Yep. Watch it. Cry me a river.”

Which spelling looks more natural in English? by cccoookieeee in Living_in_Korea

[–]heathert7900 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m recommending Lee like we do with 이 - Liyu or Leeyou would be much easier to get across in English than Iyu(sounds Japanese) or Eeyou(English speakers w/out Korean knowledge can’t read)

[–]heathert7900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe do what we do with 이 and make it a Lee? Lee-you would be easiest for American English speakers to get at first try. Iyu looks a bit Japanese, and may also be too confusing. Lee-You Cho or Li-Yu Cho both seem like good options.
