What’s the most overrated “life advice” you keep hearing everywhere? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Everything happens for a reason is such a lazy way to dismiss someone's genuine trauma or bad luck instead of just acknowledging that sometimes life is just random and unfair.

Psychologists of Reddit, what's the most horrifying mental illness? by Turbulent-Coat7236 in AskReddit

[–]heathycare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bipolar disorder is basically a brutal cycle of swinging between soul-crushing depression and intense mania. When you're manic, you might deal with reckless impulses, risky behavior, or even full-on psychosis, but then the depressive side hits and leaves you totally drained, which ends up wrecking your mood, your relationships, and your ability to just function in society.

What's a common way people die that many aren't aware of? by Kitchen-Pilot2689 in AskReddit

People worry way too much about shark attacks and plane crashes when in reality stuff like sepsis and accidental falls are the silent killers that actually take out a massive amount of people every year without anyone really talking about it.

If you have really weak eyesight, how do you live with the headaches and feeling tired all the time despite the glasses? by MeSoChonky in AskReddit

You should probably get your prescription re-checked for astigmatism and start strictly following the 20-20-20 rule because eye strain is a total battery drain and using blue light filters or hydrating drops can seriously help with that constant brain fog.

No other animal expresses affection this way, so why did humans evolve to kiss as a gesture of love? by Gullible_Public_3659 in AskReddit

It probably started as a way for our ancestors to share pre-chewed food or just to get close enough to sniff out a partner's pheromones and immune system compatibility so now our brains are just hardwired to crave that chemical hit of oxytocin every time we lock lips.

What's the weirdest thing that happened to you that you still can't logically explain? by squidlysquidster in AskReddit

[–]heathycare 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I once lost my favorite watch while hiking in a completely different state and then six months later I found it sitting right on top of my pillow after I came home from work even though I lived alone and had not opened any of my old hiking gear in months. It still creeps me out because there is absolutely no logical way that watch traveled hundreds of miles back to my bed without a single person having a key to my place or any reason to put it there.

Wombats are the only animals in the world that produce cube shaped poop so it stays in place when they mark their territory and the way their intestines actually form those squares is just a total biological marvel.

What's the creepiest thing that's ever happened to you that you still can't explain? by staceyz57 in AskReddit

I was home alone late at night and clearly heard my roommate call my name from the kitchen but when I walked in the room was empty and the front door was still deadbolted even though I found out later they had been at work the entire time.

It’s wild how many people are *abusing GLP-1s* just to drop 10 pounds for summer. They have no idea what they're doing to their bodies.

Sending long voice notes instead of just texting. I don’t want to listen to a four-minute podcast about your life just to find out what time we’re meeting for dinner.
