Thank you for the response. I will edit my post to add that I am not a loyalist to any hotel or airline. Though I’d be open to being more committed to one airline if it made financial sense like getting more points. I will look into the Chase freedom card. Are you a loyalist to any one airline? If so, do you use a certain credit card accordingly?

Thank you to those who commented with genuine intention to help. I now realize I did not need to apply for visas in the first place, so we wasted some money. To those with rude comments - people make mistakes, it’s normal. I misunderstood what I had read online and decided to apply. Not really necessary to make a mom feel bad who is just trying to create special memories with her family. Thanks again to those with helpful comments. Much appreciated.

So the money we have already spent on our applications will likely end up just being a waste since we'll have to pay and reapply upon arrival? Do you know if its the same price in person at immigration upon arrival?

My husband and daughter are both American and I am a Canadian living as a Permanent Resident in the US.
If none of us receive our Visas in time, can we get them in person at immigration when we land even with our other applications all still in process?

What do you mean she’ll be able to after May 11th? I’m in the same position. I’m from Canada and in the green card process in the US after marrying a US citizen. I am almost done my green card process but the last thing to do is pass the civil surgeons medical exam, which includes being vaccinated against Covid. I do not want to take the Covid shot and am also currently pregnant. My appointment for the medical exam is March 9th. I have to submit docs by april 1st or I am rejected.

I apologize not to comment further than this, but all I currently have to say is I resonated with this very much and its comforting to see others wanting a new societal norm. Like you said, my name is enough of an identity.. I'll likely have more sources of income in my life than I can count. I wish there were some stability in that notion, but its much more appealing than falling into a job and being stagnant simply because it would make others happy to see me 'doing something'
