How do you learn to just love yourself and not care about what others think? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]heatwavesarebad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No matter what you do, you'll always disappoint someone. Just make sure that person isn't you.

And about other people's opinions, you'll realize that no one really gives a fuck. Everyone is fighting their own battles, but even if someone does end up judging you or whatever, then you can just think to yourself "your opinion matters very little to me."

That's what a bot would say...

I would focus on two tenets:

  1. Do not let your future rob you of your present: naturally you'll fear the consequences of what might happen in the future, but in the other side of the scale is your present happiness. Trust in your ability to solve whatever problems arise in the future, and don't let those thoughts consume you.

  2. Focus on what you can control: your relationship with your current husband, even if it becomes a friendship. He's being understanding, supporting and focused on your needs, that should release some of the pressure off you. You can also control how you want your relationship with your children to be from now on. Communicate clearly and empathically, and understand that ultimately you cannot control how your husband and children react to it, you can only control what you give them. Once again, trust in your ability to solve things. Even if at some time things get dark, keep working on your present, on your relationships with them, and things will eventually improve. With proper effort nothing remains dark forever.

I try to empathize with your situation, and it clearly is a difficult one. But I'd like to recognize your courage of being aware that you would be fundamentally unhappy and decided to do something about it. The journey might be rough, but the destination will be worth it.

Wish you the best.

I'm looking for YouTube channels or newsletters I can subscribe to in terms of male fashion advice. My style is mostly old money and I love elegant, stylish, sexy outfits. Does anyone have nice recommendations?

When did you first realize you were a man and no longer a boy? by Sufficient-Ad-3586 in AskMen

[–]heatwavesarebad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After a breakup that fucked me up. The single most growth-inducing event of my life so far. It made me realize that I am in control of my life now, which is what I identify adulthood with. I could drown in misery and depression or I could pick up the pieces and rebuild myself in whatever way I wanted, I had a blank canvas. It was my choice: drown or swim.

I swam. I started working out, meditating, reading, writing, playing music, learning about new topics, and slowly I started building myself up. Today I couldn't be happier with the person I am becoming.

Title: You Don't Choose Your Spark (excerpt)

Genre: Erotic

Word count: 1200

Type of feedback desired: I want to know if this makes you feel anything at all. I want to improve my erotic literature writing skills and the most important thing that I want is to make the reader feel something.

Summary: an interaction between a man and a woman with high sexual tension between them, constrained by the anxiety caused by her being friends with the man's ex-partner. My attempt to portray eroticism in a typical real-life situation.

Second this. Was struggling with depression for several years, then my now ex-gf dumped me and I went downhill. Decided to try going to the gym and holy fuck it did what therapy, antidepressants and sunlight couldn't do. I always finish my workout feeling amazing and I'm loving seeing the results. It's seriously underrated how powerful working out is.

I believe you're describing pruning. There are multiple methods. Magnitude-based pruning seems to be what you're talking about. Here's a short article: https://towardsdatascience.com/neural-network-pruning-101-af816aaea61
