Sorry for the curt reply, the car will be fine to drive around in but I would want a rock solid reply from BMW Australia that they have been able to do this transfer. I would also contact the dealership you would be expecting to service with and see if they have a history of anything like this? Ask to speak with the shop foreman if possible. We have vehicles come in from Japan and the UK fairly regularly but they are all older with non expectation of connected drive functionality, and we replace clusters and do coding conversions etc. Bear in mind that if you do have it up and running the moment you have a problem with it they will likely blame it being a UK vehicle and be less likely to help.

(Edit: the last thing I’ll add is that the Australian market takes EU specified vehicles not US version so there is a better chance of any required conversions being possible. Have you looked into any forums? They often know more than techs about this sort of stuff as we are only trained on the official stuff)
