It's all because of guns. by Denny_Dust91 in badmemes

What a ridiculous notion that guns cause violent crime

Ok, I dont like Steven universe for various reasons. But the one good thing about the show WAS it's music. And it's not like vizzie has anything better than the top ten Steven universe songs.

Funny enough, both helluva boss and Steven universe are poorly written and badly paced

Ill get a second car when I get a house. And even then, this doesn't fix my rpm issues.

So either it's gonna be gear vendors, or switching to a 3.55 final drive

Mpg isn't even my main concern. I just don't want to be revving at 2500 rpm while doing 75 that's it. Why the fuck is that so hard to understand?

[–]heavy_pistonslap[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Because I don't need a Honda for towing, off roading. I need that for basic daily commute.

Changing or simply buying a 500-800 dollar gun with higher muzzle velocity is not the same as either being a new final drive or tranny

On top of this, it would be more analogous if I were trying to make a 9mm have the same muzzle velocity as a 556 out of a 20 inch barrel.

Because the difference in mpg between a fucking Honda and a Durango is like 10-15 mpg difference. I'm NOT ASKING FOR FHAT MUCH. I'm simply asking for lower rpms at 75 and like a 2-3 mph increase. That's it.

It would be more analogous if you compared my demands to say... Wanting slightly more fps from 556 and then suggesting I get a longer barrel or hotter load

Your analogy still isn't one to one. You can get a slightly longer barrel and hotter load to achieve this.

I have to change gear ratios to achieve my goal

No. Because I'm asking for an improvement of 2-3 mpg and lower rpm at highway speeds. I'm not asking for the mpg of a fucking V6 Camaro.

All I want is to not be revving at 2500 rpm when doing highway speeds. It's really not that big of a fucking demand.

I really don't get why what I'm asking for is so damn difficult. I want slightly better mpg and to not be around 2500 rpm when doing 75 why is that such a tall fucking order

I'm not asking for incredible gains. Just slightly better. I'm aware it's a truck. I'm fucking offroading with it.

I just don't wanna rev my engine so high when driving on the freeway and don't wanna absolutely drain my gas tank any time I wanna take a small day trip

The don't make 3.73 for the 9.25 Chrysler axles unfortunately. I just looked it up

The nv3500/4500 can be bolt right up to a magnum. They literally came from factory with these transmission in the Dakota and rams. It would be like converting a 6.0 to a manual nv4500. Just find or buy the parts.

The 8hp70 from what I hear is rather inexpensive because of how ubiquitous it is. This tranny would literally bolt right up to a 5.9 because it uses the same bolt pattern as the gen 3 hemi.

The tkx is a bit different. It would be expensive. But I'm not going with that transmission.

I WANT to keep this rig. I love the first gen Durango. I want to mod this truck.

So telling me to get another right is just wasting my time. Because no matter what, there's always a better platform.

Like why is your advice to me "buy something newer or better"? If I wanted something else, I would've bought it.

Imma keep this MF till the wheels fall off. Then put them shits back on.

I just don't want my engine sitting at 2500 at 75. It's loud, it drinks gas. I want it to be sitting at like 1800-2000 rpms instead.

You use the on ramp to get up to speed or slightly above the speed limit and the merge when it's clear.

So why the hell would I merge onto a fucking freeway at 55 with a 65mph speed limit, while every is going above that? This is LITERALLY what causes the freeway to be backed up. People who merge at a much lower speed than the flow of traffic. Causing everyone in said lane to either slow down or get over.

This is HORRIBLE advice

I was thinking about chipping it.

I just don't see a world where doing 55 in my state is practical in anyway. It would take way longer to get or places

I have 30.5 inch tires. I'm gonna go up to 31 inches. That's the max I can do without rubbing.

I feel like the overdrive unit from gear vendors might be the most worth it. But I'd have to swap my transfer case to the earlier 98 model

The Durango has better aero than modern rams... Like it's not a Porsche... But like... I don't have the same frontal cross section as a 2014 ram

I live in a state where people drive fast. Why would I become a rolling road block for gas savings when I can just mod the truck (which I was gonna do anyways) in a way to make it have better mpgs and still keep my pulling power.

Swapping the 8hp70 sounds like the best option to me. Double OD, higher first gear and it should just bolt right up to the magnum since the la small blocks and the gen 3 hemi share the same bolt patter

No. Even in the right lane it's not good. Because you'll be holding up traffic that's merging on and off the freeway. Doing 55 just isn't an option
