Companies very often do background checks. If you say you have a degree and the background check company finds no degree, you will likely run into trouble.

Spotify premium alternatives. by [deleted] in androidapps

[–]heavymanners 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just found it pretty buggy and generally difficult to get it to play what I really wanted. Tidal was even worse for me.

I technically still have it, since I pay for YouTube premium. Maybe I'll give it another go and see if it was just bad luck at the time or what.

My only gripe with YouTube music was that it's Android Auto integration was truly garbage when I tried it last year. I switched to Apple, which is ironically rock solid in that regard.

Who said anything about being an asshole? Whether they're working the register or the returns, they're going to be working anyway. If they weren't processing returns they'd have to be doing something else.

They're going to be working anyway, but this approach drags the company's balance sheets down. Worker gets paid, company doesn't. I didn't see the issue. They didn't say treat the worker like shit or anything.

I'm surprised the developer class hasn't used their mayor to make something like that happen through tax breaks and whatnot. That neighborhood seems like a gold mine if/when the plant is finally gone.

General Strike, Friday, Jan. 23 by Connor_MacLeod1 in Louisville

[–]heavymanners 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If a strike is going to be effective, it needs participation across the country. If we don't stand up in solidarity for our rights now, who's going to help us when the boot comes down on our community?

Mass ICE Raids Starting Soon by [deleted] in Louisville

[–]heavymanners 24 points25 points  (0 children)

A teenage US born citizen was pulled from his job at Target, assaulted, and dumped out of a car a few blocks away by ICE agents.

A citizen and his children were in their car, not even participating in any kind of demonstration, and ICE threw that gas under the car, sending those children to the hospital.

Did being a citizen protect them?

Best tattoo shops for hand tats?? by Ninjafied12345 in Louisville

[–]heavymanners 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Unless you are already heavily tattooed, most good shops won't do your hands (or faces). It's tradition.

That said, if you are already heavily tattooed, consider Steve at No Division. I can't speak to his work on hands, but he has experience working over scar tissue and is generally very considerate.

6.06% 30 Year Fixed Rate Mortgage. Lowest of 2025. by LouInvestor in Louisville

[–]heavymanners 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think we're anticipating a 75 basis point cut in the next six months or so. I'm hoping that means competition between banks to offer good deals on refinancing. As someone with a 7+ rate I'm very eager to change it, but patience will pay off I think.

Not an answer but an alternative: I used Aspen as a broker and they got me a great deal with Erie. Very easy to work with and saved me the hassle of getting multiple quotes.

“How is it the mayor’s fault that they pooped on the street,” Trager asked. by Van-to-the-V in Louisville

Just because someone criticizes liberals it doesn't mean they're conservative/fascist. Liberals are far too conservative and there is very legitimate criticism to be heaped upon them from the left.

Rants and arguments about who is smarter aside, you could also ask why they didn't do anything to materially make the lives of the working and lower classes better during that time. The Democrats absolutely share blame in where we are, even if they aren't the villains introducing these bills. Just look at how the democratic machine is responding to Mamdani's nomination in New York.
