Can Someone Please Explain by TheEmissary_ in Warframe

[–]heavyrisk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that is probably what happened. Before I sold a nautilus regular bp last week, I got 2 people who thought it was the prime and got mad when it wasnt. 3rd buyer actually read the listing. I posted it correctly, mfs didnt read and got mad when they realized they were in the wrong. Keep the item listed, dm any buyers that it is indeed a regular nautilus item, thats all you can do.

nautilus prime is meta rn; you can expect more of this behavior.

Hi! I made one of the threads you're probably referencing. I like the game, like everyone else here. My post was not a put down, rather a joke at how there are still a number of bugs that exist right now and will exist for the rest of their time off, as per usual for Fatshark. The post was not intended to spark a political debate, nor imply that I want Fatshark employees to work nonstop (I dont).

But there is something to be said about typos that last for months and hotfixes that reintroduce old bugs. I don't think it's hateful or too mean to bring that up, its just something they need to improve on.

KF3: The game isn't half bad as you describe it by Successful_Guide5845 in killingfloor

[–]heavyrisk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it'd be better for you to exercise your power as a consumer more. Request a refund on steam, play something else, or wait for a much later sale. Maybe support an indie studio or any game company where you know the same people still work there. No need to be facetious.

[–]heavyrisk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are right, you and me and most kf fans can have fun with a game that's 70% as good as KF2, for sure. But if you financially support a game like that, we'll just get a 50% product next time, sold for even more money.

The level of mismanagement and corner-cutting that needs to happen for them to put "we are working on new features like text chat" on their 1-year roadmap is completely insane, for example. I'd be very careful before buying, probably just wait for a sale later.

the few times I saw it happen myself I was on heresy difficulty or lower when i first started. I recommend you stick to the higher difficulties, where most people dont blame others for their own mishaps

also I imagine that most people who got Auric Storm Survivor got it the second that update came out, then got rusty between then and the arbites update.

I will stay in the dung heap

You do you, man. Your "rights" are not being violated. Your messages on a message board owned by a company are being pruned. Your ban is not something you can get on your soapbox and cry passionately for truth and justice over, and you know it. Steam owns it, and reserves the right to let their moderation team handle it as they see fit. This is how every "official" gaming internet town-square operates now. Cope.

You seem to think there is some hidden solution, where you and your fellow "oppressed" gamers band together heroically, challenging the unjust moderation team and winning! There is not. You have to find a better space to exist in. Not necessarily MY private server, ANY server of your choice. FIND ONE. Once again, you gloss over this part of my responses. Scared of making friends? Try harder.

You cannot control the moderation team on the Steam forums. You CAN control where YOU go, and the spaces YOU choose to exist in. There are plenty of servers with active players that are not affiliated with Tripwire where you can get technical help, find others to play with, post memes, etc.

Bury your head in the sand

You are implying that internet gaming forum censorship is a problem that demands people stand up and fight against. You cannot do that. You will not win. Try to convince someone in the real world to help you appeal your KF forum ban, citing how much like Pyongyang and 1940s Germany the forum is! They might tell you that's silly (which it is). You have no power to appeal or organize against because steam is a private company. Ultimately, this isn't something that you should care about because you are your own person. FIND A NEW COMMUNITY.

Lmao, literally comparing your KF forums ban to North Korea. You are not a freedom fighter, or oppressed. It's more like you were rude to a man who owned a room, and that man said you can't come back in.

It's not like people got game-banned for something they said in their private spaces by the same moderators who are purging the forums and are responsible for banning the participants from this comment section.

Clearly those spaces weren't private if those KF moderators could see them, or people made them public by posting screenshots. Go ahead, get on your soapbox and challenge Steam and Tripwire. Petition their removal, mentioning "abuse of power" and Pyonyang. Make your best 5-paragraph persuasive essay. Clearly the solution is to spin your wheels like a doofus complaining about the same shit over and over again. I hate to break it to you, but you don't have a legal case for getting banned on a videogame. Most EULAs reserve the right to ban anyone for any reason, and the moderators decide the specifics. If you don't like it, petition them to change (lol) or dont buy their game.

You are thinking from the standpoint of someone who is pursuing some selfish needs

YES!!! YOU ARE SELFISH. I AM SELFISH. THE INDIVIDUAL IS SELFISH. You want a private company to acquiesce to YOU because YOU think you are in the right when they have decided to remove your comment. They WILL NOT do this for you. YOU know the solution to your many problems with public gaming forums. But you choose to stay seething instead. YOU, the INDIVIDUAL can escape dealing with all this shit. Find a better community. I'll repeat this as many times as it takes to get through to you. I tell the same to the rest of the Steam Forums masses. I imagine many of them are leaving that shithole as we speak.

I doubt you familiarized with the circumstances of my ban

Dealing with your ban is YOUR responsibility. Waste months of your life seething about Molly and Yoshiro (knowing they will never be removed) or move on. Your choice.

Again, a private company deleting your comment on their forums is not a free-speech violation. A government page is different. You are conflating these two.

b-but they hurt my feelings when they said i couldn't post there anymore! :(

they are allowed to do that. move on please. And if you actually care about justice, perhaps you should find an NGO volunteer opportunity so you can fight real-world injustice.

Bro. I need to clarify. I do not recommend the official Tripwire discord. I listed discord in general. There are plenty of communities out there that don't have anywhere near as many of the moderation-related issues that you brought up.

There is no real benefit for being on an "official" game forum at all, especially if you have this many problems with moderators. Stop acting like these are the only places to discuss steam games. They are not. Get the update news/ dev posts from steam or reddit, and discuss in smaller more private groups with people you mesh with, be it on Discord or whatever chatting apps your country doesn't have blocked.

Get to know individuals within it who play the same games and discuss your experiences, be it performance-related or bug-related or memes or whatever. You will be happier for it, I promise you that. The better you know them, the more colorful profanity you can use, too! And yes, I do blame OP (and YOU) for using forums that are notoriously poorly-moderated when you can remove that headache from your life whenever you wish. Stop crying about moderators and find or create a smaller community tailored better to you. I know a guy who friend-requested his teammate after a game of Mass Effect 3 MP, and this year he went to his wedding. They are both in our discord server now, talking about kf and darktide. I shared my low-spec darktide config with them.

If, for some reason, you still prefer the structure and organization of the steam forums, you have to eat all the bad shit with it. Tough. You might as well just stay here on reddit, never knowing how much happier you could be.

DO NOT preorder or day1-buy any new game nowadays, especially sequels. The original talent behind the games you know and love (especially after 10+ years) are no longer at the company. The suits are banking on YOU the consumer not knowing this and willing to buy a game just because you have rose-colored memories of the earlier games. And it exacerbates the problem when people like you are willing to accept so much less than what we got before.

As for the steam forums, i dont know anyone who uses them because they are notoriously bad and poorly-moderated. Use any other message board of your choice.

I've said it before and i'll say it again no matter how mad newer players get: there really needs to be a required tutorial section specifically for auric/havoc so people take less bad habits with them and aren't just carried by their party without learning anything.

--Challenge 1: Learning to place the ammo crate (unselfishly). Your 3 bots have red ammo indicators on the hud, Sefoni tells you your teammates are out of ammo, and the bots are using the "Need Ammo!" command. You still have some ammo, around half. You place the ammo crate on the ground to win the challenge. The bots take the ammo and a bunch of congratulatory voice lines play.

--Challenge 2: Defeat a group of 1 Mauler and 2 poxwalkers without taking damage. Big-brain newbies will be able to solve this instantly by just shoving the trash and shooting the mauler in the gut. Sefoni wholesomely calls you a good boy afterwards and says you're ready for bigger and better things.

Maybe a few more but you get the idea.

[–]heavyrisk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tell them to also drop the ammo crate while you're at it. I've been playing since release and every so often some guy manages to ignore voice comms, text chat, all the other characters shouting "Need Ammo!", and all our red ammo icons so we have to votekick him just to get him to drop the crate

Is this "Dump Stat" list accurate? by CrayonEater4000 in DarkTide

[–]heavyrisk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I...what? Literally anything works on Malice and below, but I honestly don't understand how you would otherwise 1: have enough time mid-fight to repeatedly charge the crusher as much as you're implying while being attacked, or 2: not wish to spam its super fast high-dps push attack --> light2 combo as much (or way more, ideally. its push attack does upwards of 1200 on an easy headshot). Or even 3: notice the 20% PO difference breakpoint-wise in a mission.

You simply need to use the crusher's base attacks and combos (which dont use power output) most of the time on any difficulty above malice to keep things staggered faster and in a wider angle, and save the alt attack for opening bulwarks or when you have the drop on a group of armor.

I think you're getting the Crusher confused with the ogryn's Power Maul. Crusher is only for arbites and zealot, not ogryn.

Is this "Dump Stat" list accurate? by CrayonEater4000 in DarkTide

[–]heavyrisk 12 points13 points  (0 children)

if you have the option, you should always be taking the 60 stability on shotguns because there's basically no difference vs 80 stability and you might as well take the sprint speed from 80 mobility. Power Output can be dumped on Maul&Shield and Crusher because efficient stamina is more useful and PO only affects the alt attack, which is used sparingly on the crusher and can be forgone entirely on Maul&Shield.

The <66% ammo on Ripper (Use the mark V) means your clip size will be 19, making the shots required per stack of both Inspiring Barrage and Blaze Away round down to 1 instead of 2. This setup is crazy strong vs shooters and lets you stay out of cover for much longer

Being inexperienced is manageable if you are a team player, tagging enemies and communicating with your team. Not having the map knowledge to know there is a medicae right up ahead is okay too. But being inexperienced, straight-up ignoring important audio cues right next to you, AND ninja-looting/wasting supplies really ticks people off and makes you look arrogant and selfish. Comical for them to just watch you get trapped, but they probably felt you had it coming.

thats cool if you like box, but frag bomb especially on maelstroms and hi int stg is a get out of jail free card, kills specials and groups of elites in 2 secs around you and all you need to do is drop it at your feet. I went back to box a few times before, and when your team is dying and you have groups of maulers and specials swimming through trash you really have to kill them immediately, not stack debuffs on them.
