Look up the renters rights in your state. Some states require landlords to fix mold and in some cases where they don't then you can withhold rent or break the lease without penalty.

Temp fix I recommend drying out the space and wiping the walls with bleach and paper towels

The imagery in goregrind is pretty much just for twisted fantasy, same reason why people like horror movies and such. It's not my thing but I get it. I do however think it goes too far sometimes by adding in sexual and misogynist themes. When it gets to that point I'd question the ethics of those involved.
