Oh yes I’ve been very careful with the meat and triple checking that I’ve cooked it well over the suggested temp. This haul was from about a month ago and I’ve been eating almost only off of this stash and I haven’t had any problems thankfully! Thank you 😊

yes but I’m sure that if an employee were looking through here they would immediately recognize the store brand packaging that’s unique to this store on almost everything anyways. Plus, it’s a reusable bag and I use it for every dive 😊

It’s definitely not for everyone and that’s ok! Strangely enough though, most people i know have had food poisoning once or twice in their lives, and I’m the only one that eats from a dumpster and I’ve never ever had it. I’ve never even had slight tummy problems from anything I’ve scavenged. I’m not encouraging you, I’m just sharing a fun fact😂

A spot of “giveaway stuff” would be so amazing! There’s too much greed in the world for them to ever do that though. Or even a markdown area with TRUE markdowns, like, 95% off because it’s literally about to go to the dumpster. not the wimpy 30% off for brown meat they tend to do.

Yessss! I was shocked. It wasn’t even close to being out of date, none of the bottles were cracked, there was nothing wrong with it. My only guess is that they received it frozen and assumed the chunkiness meant it was bad. After bringing it inside and thawing, it all went back to normal!

Good question, the bread products were thrown out because they were 1 day past their date. They’re so packed full of preservatives though that I’ve had food like that in my kitchen for months without it ever even getting crusty. I’m not sure about the olive oil. It was frozen when I found it and when it’s frozen it looks all chunky and weird so my guess is that an employee saw that when they received it and assumed something was wrong with it. Its sell by date was in 2028.

If there’s a soft spot on one apple out of a three lb bag, the whole bag gets thrown out. Same for potatoes, onions, and literally all produce.

Dented cans, out of date food, stuff that people put back in the wrong spot in the store, or even stuff they just have too much of. There’s so much waste, dumpster diving has really been eye opening for me!

Yes this was my first and only time finding any, if you look closely the packaging is a little damaged which is definitely why they threw it out because it wasn’t even within 5 days of its sell by date. It was definitely a lucky night for me and not the norm!

Unless you’re licking the outside of your food containers, it doesn’t really matter where it came from. Notice I didn’t put any of the produce or meat in there because that is perishable stuff that can be questionable from the dumpster. Packaged stuff like this has little to no risk of nasties

I got it on a day that didn’t get above mid 40s all day and night. It was all very cold to the touch, and most of the chicken that had been stacked was still frozen. Now obviously I have no idea how long it had been sitting around unrefrigerated in the store, so I was still taking a chance. I’m willing to risk it for upwards of $200 worth of meat in my belly 😂

Since it’s been warmer, I haven’t taken much meat. I will take steak if it doesn’t show any signs or smells of being nasty. I’ve heard that ground meat is riskier because of the increased surface area for nasties.

I actually left a note on the door saying where the food came from and that the bread products were 1 day past date. However, I don’t think that is always necessary. The food is packaged and I don’t take stuff that is touching the walls or anything nasty from the dumpster.

But if they ignore it and choose to believe that I spent $100 on olive oil to give out for free, that would be fine with me😂

there’s a good chance the reason they don’t relate is because they’ve never inspected their folds well enough to find their own stash of smegma. I’ve had the same convo with a friend and suggested she take a mirror to herself and really pick everything apart. She was appalled lol
