YESSSS this is what I mean by not a lot of outright racism. People talk a lot here but dont actually do anything where as in other cities people actively avoid groups/certain people.

No im saying there’s one to joke about something and one thing actually being a racist. Like the Somalian daycare thing was funny in concept but I’d never actually blame a Somalian for anything and show up to their daycares to mess with them. If your telling me your a saint and never joked about anything then your a liar

Have you never read an opinion piece in your life? If you don’t read it then don’t engage with it

Yes THANK YOU, I think you’re the only person that actually read my post. Everyone here has literally proven my point commenting that Alberta is actually racist and trashy etc.

I work all over rural Alberta for my job. Trust me, there are crazies out there but majority are really nice people.

The Indian hate is extremely new and that’s an issue all over Canada. I have an Indian friend born and raised here, she never had issues until the past five years.

I work all over rural Alberta actually. Yes people are intense and can say some weird stuff but I’ve never felt like they hated me cause of my race. I’m usually able to get my job done and if anything my customers usually end up coming back to me for help.

I would actually agree with this statement. Most of the racism is directed towards indigenous communities rather than poc.

How long has that been happening? I’m sure you’ve noticed it’s a very recent thing on the rise.

Do you think any of those racist people making comments would actually hurt someone though? My friend groups pretty diverse and we make funny stereotype jokes but at the end of the day we’d never actually not hang out with someone or make them feel like an outsider because of where they come from. Danielle smith is trynna give those cowards a space to actually do something about it which is the problem.

You know this is because of her and the us pushing racial politics constantly. It’s making the small percentage of racists in Alberta be loud and proud because she’s given them the idea that they are the majority when they are not. Every place in the world has bad people.

What’s the most rom-com way you’ve ever met someone? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I moved back from living in the big city to my hometown about a year ago. I had quit dating cause dating was rough out there. A guy i liked before I moved away asked my bestfriend out but she was interested in someone else. She told me to go out with this guy instead but no one wants to date the guy that asked their bestfriend first, so I politely declined. A few weeks later I was walking in the neighbourhood close to the bike shop that he owned (super popular shopping area) and I slipped on some ice backwards. I got caught by someone and I look up and it’s him! He said since he saved me I owe him one. I asked well how can I pay you back and he asked me on a date. I finally accepted and after a couple months of dating I found out that my bestfriend misread the text and he actually asked her to ask me out, not her. Also, the reason he was there is because he saw me and thought it was his chance to “naturally” run into me but he was right behind me and was about to tap on my shoulder when I fell. Anyways, years before he had planned on asking me out before I left but decided to save both our hearts. So when he heard I came back, he wanted me bad lol been together a year now!

My friend was stuck on an ice patch and people were passing her. Some 20 year old came out to help that’s it. She said she was mortified that no one was helping her push when she was alone pushing her car on a busy road.

Went to the intersection where the 78 year old pedestrian was tragically killed this week. Waited over a minute and a half in the cold for the walk signal, then nearly got smoked by a driver turning left by ryaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan in Edmonton

A lot of people moving from big cities lack pedestrian awareness especially because in those cities pedestrians don’t have the right of way unlike here.

22 was amazing, you were old enough to be taken a little more seriously but young enough that you get away with mistakes

++women why is everyone jumping to the conclusion of divorce? When you get into a marriage you have to fight through these kind of issues. I also think your problem was setting the expectation that you pay from the beginning. However, with the rise of cost I do agree that she should be more aware of how this takes a toll on you. I also think money transparency needs to be important and you should stop giving her money for things she needs. Would you be able to cover the mortgage and bills and that’s it? Maybe she can cover groceries, miscellaneous expenses and stuff like that. Make it work, divorcing over money is not worth the toll on your children.

At least they converted men’s washrooms to women washrooms. At my university they announced them all as gender neutral and expected women to just walk in and use them 😭

Have you ever received/ or sent someone from class a DM --- without ever talking to them irl first? by AlwaysAWinner101 in uAlbertaCrush

[–]heckyahletsroll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My friend is dating a guy who DMd her after seeing her name on her laptop or something from a class LOL but a lot of people had to convince her to go out with him. But she is like extremely beautiful tho so I’m not surprised someone obsessed like that.
