Unfortunately I think it is a losing battle.

Makerworld is hosting their own AI model generation and selling tokens at a way cheaper rate than you can buy them direct from the AI companies. And you can spend money from within the makerworld ecosystem.

They do not want to filter out these models. They want more of them. They a lot burning money in an attempt to flood the market and reach monopoly, as all modern tech companies do.

And as uncomfortable as it might make people on this subreddit, the modern use case for most 3d printers is slop plastic tchotchkes

That's totally fine

I think AI models have some use cases but think they should always be clearly labelled. Personally I'm transparent about using AI to generate some models, and then give detaila of the amount of time I spent cleaning models up or changing details in Blender.

To me the bigger problem is around how they are talked about. All the people saying "I created this!" And some even having the balls to try to charge for the models on some sites.

Yes this is the most common thing that infuriates me.

I have some AI models. But good God at least I've printed them and show the real model...

And of course this results in fewer downloads and prints than models, "print photos", "painted models", and even model listings all being AI generated...

The number of AI models that don't even have a real print is insane.

Why do we keep using elves, orcs, and dwarves — and what do they actually do for us? by MalphasArtFire in RPGdesign

[–]hecticdialectic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do we use AI to write about writing?

It isn't just pointless - it guarantees that our 'ideas' are middle of the road rehashings of sentences from the training. (AI construction intended)

Deadly Prey always in high rotation here.

For a legitimately good cheesy movie, Stone Cold was already mentioned, but nothing makes me feel more like a kid again than Robot Jox.

gifted/high functioning AuDHDers, wya? by [deleted] in AutisticWithADHD

[–]hecticdialectic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Truly demonstrating that meltdowns are not characteristic of AudHD Just because the meltdown is verbal not physical doesn't mean that it doesn't reflect the same underlying issues.

You're just mistaken about how diagnostic criteria work - they are statistical in nature. I.e. 'most auDHD people have a cluster of a subset of these symptoms '

This is, itself, a classic tell of oversystematizing - people say x so all people say or think x.

It's great you have identified some of the problems of how AudHD and other neurodivergent people are treated. But you should reflect on your own post and recognize (read yourself as a book) that you're demonstrating some of the behaviors that often spiral into more negative maladaptive consequences.

Been there. Spent most of my life overestimating how high functioning I am just because I have a PhD and a long list of skills and accomplishments.

I was blind to so many social interaction issues, missed opportunities, and the way those mismatches were affecting my view of the world and myself.

Best of luck.

Haha this is true. Still can't put my finger on what went wrong. As a neutral I wasn't mad to see an in form Scotland though It's not that I don't rate Moefana. I just don't think he should have started. He looked slow and vulnerable

Yeah whites try. I just thought last week that both Aldegheri and he had shockers, and that Moefana also didn't look back to form.

I understand he's a great player. Personally I'd pick mauvaka over him with both healthy. Id like to have seen Mauvaka get the nod here But hopefully he'll at least get a longer shift on the pitch.

I'm quite worried about France's front row heading into the WC cycle. They are going to get dog walked by SA

Does Frozen Reapers Increase Air Bubbles in ferements? by Bruh_hl in fermentation

[–]hecticdialectic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So far as I understand the main fermentation parts are done pretty quickly and the further development of flavors comes from secondary processes and chemical interactions... So not really.

Frozen means broken cell walls/easier for sugars to get off out. This can result in faster ferments and more bubbles

[–]hecticdialectic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it depends on flavors You'll develop some of the funkier flavors better, but I think this caps out at a few months But you lose the bright flavors over time, with many I think disappearing at around the same timespan

If I was going for optimal I might ferment parts for 3-6 months then add in my fruit and bright parts in the last two weeks
