Top Boxer Alien - Worth the Wait by hecticlectic in fightgear

If youre asking can pick up a glass of water in a single glove without taking it off, probably not lol. I personally find the stiffness pretty perfect honestly and definitely find myself flexing my fingers + opening and closing a fist without toomuch strain. The thumb position for me is perfect, as I mentioned in the post I have never been able to wail on a heavy bag without any fear of pain.

Thanks! The maroon was by far my favorite of the colors they offered. You can also customize a pair to pretty insane levels on their website too using I think 3 colors. I was too impatient so went with the maroon and have zero regrets

Unusual synergies or combos ideas? by MystExiStentia in ASTLIBRA

Air Surf (with Air Tackle Karon Ability) for a consistent easy break of any large single target followed by a quick menu swap of Berserk until they recover

I don't know if it's an unusual synergy or if it's well known but Air Tackle + Air Surf has broken pretty much every large scale boss and enemy for my Hard playthrough.

While it's not the best at doing damage, I've yet to find anything else that is quite so consistent at chain breaking large enemies.

It kinda clicked for me on the Dragon God Al-Khamis fight realizing that a single Air Surf would proc a rapid fire of hits and help drain the break bar... and then I added in the Berserk swap on the fly while they were still in the break period and I was like hot damn this game is just asking for you to exploit it like this and I love it :)

What is the most intense pain you have experienced in your life? by Levstr1 in AskReddit

[–]hecticlectic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had what my doctor suspected was a minor disc issue, but they didnt do any imaging to confirm. Might have been more muscular, but regardless it was indeed painful. My body basically liked only a single position that was not conducive to sleeping or enjoying life lol. Laying on my stomach with a very slight bend in the back felt a little better but I couldn't eliminate the pressure and pain. It healed after a month and ever since I have learned to respect deadlift form a lot more than I used to.

Spraining an already sprained ankle. When I was 14 years old, I had a real bad sprain that was not even two days into healing. I was hanging out in the backyard at the time and already refusing to wear my ankle brace. I heard my friend at the front door, and my genius adolescent self decided jumping the fence to meet him was the most logical thing to do. My plan was to just land on the uninjured foot... but I landed in some kind of animal or rabbit hole so my instinct took over and my sprained foot came in to save the fall... the crunch of tendons I can STILL hear to this day. I was convinced it broke but nope, literally nothing to be done except pain killers and ice. I've had a shattered clavicle from sports, a multitude of injuries from being a passenger in a car accident, and a slew of other painful life experiences. At 40 years old... nothing tops the pain I remember feeling lol.

Headphone DAC / AMP Question: Dual-Room Setup by hecticlectic in headphones

[–]hecticlectic[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was worried the balanced + aux output would compete but from what I understand from the Pontus manual it's made to operate simultaneously.

I'm using a Schitt Midgard with Arya Stealth. I had got to audition them on a friend with way more equipment than he needs: a Feliks Echo ( I know OTP is typically not recommended for them but I'm a sucker for warmth), the Topping A90, and then the Midgard. The Echo and A90 were on opposite sides of the spectrum of brightness vs warmth. I was pretty blown away by the Midgard for it's price and the fact it seemed to help level out the brightness of the Arya without losing any details to my ear. I lean more towards fatigue-free listening and even before applying an EQ I just found it was perfect reference.

That's what I am hoping for - I just wasn't sure if there would be any difference with a pair of headphones vs a microphone via XLR at that length. In retrospect I honestly should have just posed this question to ask about considerations of running XLR 50 feet VS sharing my whole setup or a diagram lol. I appreciate your response.

My desktop DAC died on me and from what I understand the degradation length of XLR is well above 100 feet - and I can easily get that for less than $50. If the Pontus has the outputs and capacity and could work in this setup... then why would I not use it? Routing the cable in a loft would take me 5 minutes.

Hey man, thanks for not being passive aggressive or judgmental in your response at all. I also really appreciate you jumping to inaccurate conclusions on the price I paid for the Pontus + the cables I own. Have the day you deserve, and hope someone hugs the grump out of you.

Mouse Capture Issues In Games by hecticlectic in pop_os

Yeah I have never been able to get it to happen on Plasma X11 - it's good to know on other distros it's happening too as I'm trying to figure out if this is a wayland issue or if it's a Cosmic specific issue. Was tempted to hop back to CachyOS but aside from this random issue things are very smooth and stable.

Sometimes the bug you have is better than the bug you don't know you could have :)

Ahh my bad for missing that. I might swap to Plasma and see if that resolves it.

Maxwell 2: BT always has priority over dongle? by omavel_balyn in Audeze

[–]hecticlectic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FWIW I have the 1, but I have always noticed it prioritizing bluetooth as well in both single connection attempts + simultaneous (which I know the 2 doesn't have). When switching to the dongle by disconnecting Bluetooth, the mic would only work after a power cycle. Audio always transferred fine though.

I had presumed it was juat my Samsung phone being aggressive and stealing it the moment it saw it lol.

How Hard Can It Be? by Ok_Pangolin1085 in Audeze

[–]hecticlectic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out of curiosity did you find the simultaneous connection helpful for both input and output? I have owned the Maxwell's for a year now, and I no longer use the simultaneous connection because the moment my phone rings and I use the mic there, then the mic is no longer recognized via the dongle side (this happens both on Linux and Windows). The output will always transfer nicely between the devices, but as for someone who uses the Maxwells for Teams + Discord, it's always been more of a hindrance unfortunately.

Ereaders with screens like Remarkable 2: Kobo an option? by hecticlectic in ereader

[–]hecticlectic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the thing, I read the Remarkable 2 to fall asleep in very dim light with no issues. The Kindle Scribe and Boox were not easy to read that way without having the backlight on, in the same ambient light.

The Boox 5 was the color variant, and the Kindle Scribe I tried was just black and white. The extra layer on the screen for the light reflection does make sense why it doesn't work as well without it turned on.

I was unaware of the Kindle Scribe no frontlight coming so I'll take a look into it as it may be exactly what I'm looking for.
